New AT44S-10 QE - How do you remove the air tube?

It looks like the shroud will be in the way and must be removed to get the air tube off. Surely that's not correct. The manual shipped with the rifle is for the model w/o shroud and does not mention the shroud. I would rather know how to do it before I try it and mess something up.

I have the same gun- after you spin it off the threads it will come off , the barrel and shroud will flex a tiny bit out of you way, it's a non-issue, Just give it a try, you'll see it's not as bad as it looks.....

why not ask folks in the 'HATSAN Gate'?? , makes perfect sense to me--


go to the pcp gate and wait for hours or days for the right answer if at all-

I don't even bother with the PCP gate- GO RIGHT TO THE Source - HATSAN GATE- nothing more- is that interesting to me any more-

Help a guy out when he asks for help- other wise we'd have just one  ALL KNOWING Gate , like the yellow, that is a pain-

How? you needed help with your Hatsan At44-
You went to the  Hatsan Gate- YOU ARE GOLDEN.....
Not an expert at ALL the Air Guns out there but IS there any other pcp that has the same type of spin off Air Cyl. AND you where not  asking about ANY pcp- you asked about your AT44

I see poste about "pellet" in the same gate- Maybe we need a Pellet Gate-
I saw post about lop and stock- there should be a Stock Gate???
 
More importantly, did you get the info you needed? And where you able to get the Air Cyl. off???
1st time I tried to pull the Air tube it was on there super tight and very hard to get it off the threads...hope you do well with your AT44 they are nice PCP Turkish Air Rifles-

who's the Hatsan Gate Keeper- ? If we give every body a hard time for where they post simple questions that are specific to what the gate was geared for then we will chase off folks - NOT bring more into fold.
Maybe there are too many gates???

As the remarks by AlanB that the forum has too many Gates maybe true.  There are too many types of airguns and manufactures.  The GTA staff bend over backwards when members are continually asking for a new gate.  And this is the results (too many gates).  On top of that members are asking for a pistol gate and I think these request will not stop.  And the GTA staff will continue to try to please.  Keep everyone happy.  I don't think that is possible.  Does the staff try to keep everyone happy.  I think so.  If anyone has an idea to make things better the staff always gives it a consideration.  JMO

I think the problem is here "All Springer/NP/PCP Air Gun Discussion General" Once a person views the PCP part, then they follow the path to Turkish threads not realizing someone stuck a note in there that says (All PCP's need to be discussed in the PCP Darkside Gate.) Well I think that if it is a Turkish gun or Hatsan, however you want to call it, regardless of anything else then it needs to be in the Turkish gate or a Hatsan gate, every AG needs a Gate specific to the Brand and then layered down to PCP, Springer, Pumper or NP.

If a person wants help with a Hatsan then they need to be in a Hatsan Gate not the Darkside, the Darkside gate should be left for just general PCP questions and answers that would apply to generally all PCP AG's. Kind of like the Hardware store, if you need a bolt & Nut you go there, Not the Paint store or Walmart.

Just my Opinion and I'll stick to it until my wife changes my mind for me lol

Wow. So now I have to go to read the PCP gate  to find the HATSAN Threads for (PCPs)??  and since I have no  ( 0 ) interest in springers any more I won;t have reason to visit Hatsan gate any more??? 
Now that is a 'SHAKE UP' -- odd - strange and seemingly a bit backwards- I don;t care about the 'other' PCP's at all , just my Hatsans.
I am down to ONE Mrod and I want that to go away too.. so I can get another Hatsan - bt65 357 this time...

Oh well - bye bye Hatsan Gate, I will miss you  it was fun and I learned much- back to PCP DARKSIDE gate- Dang, i liked having ONE Gate to learn all about JUST HATSANS

Not sure who or what you are referring too!!! But I want a Hatsan gate as well as a Crosman gate or Daystate gate, for specific help on each type of AG. Don't you think it would be easier to break them down by category? Or did I not word things correctly, or maybe I am not seeing what you mean by the post.... Just curious, anyway I shall now move on and see what I can find in the Darkside....

Sorry we posted at the same time - I was referring to Paul's post- about how the HATSAN pcp stuff now all goes to the DARKSIDE instead of keeping by brand-

I would rather keep ALL Hatsan stuff in one spot, not have to go to Darkside and look for the stuff I want- That was not clear to me until tonight, when I want to find info about HATSAN I don;t want to go to the PCP gate to look for the info...too much going on in that gate that has 0 to do with Hatsan stuff- again just a personal thing and I may be way off base and the only one that feels that way-

Still better than some other airgun forums by far that need not be named

AlanB and William I do sort of agree with you and ezman604 who runs this forum had said or asked in a very nice way if anyone has an idea to make the forum better to make a detailed outline and email or send a personal message to him.  Then the staff will decide to implement it or not.
I personally feel that this thread does not need to be locked and moved.  As well as some other PCP or CO2 thread but that is a judgement call by the staff and only my opinion.  Something I can live with.
On the other hand for the experts here on the forum who we are blessed to have that always give sound advice and solutions to problem solving.  Find it easier to just go to the Darkside Gate instead of many gates to find a place they can be of help.  So I think it may be better to make it easier for the experts to help than make it easier for people like me that needs a lot to learn.  JMO

Just to add another thought.  If a post is locked and moved the heading will still be posted in the original Gate it was posted.  The rules state not to double post.  But that is kind of what is going to happen.  Which might serve well for the op.  as usual JMO

I am a simple person, so when I want to find out about Mrods I go the the forum site where that's all they do (  I can;t post  there but that's something else)


If I need info about Hatsan I go to the HATASN gate- IF there was a HATSAN ONLY FORUM then I would go there.....but alas there is not one yet.

That is just simple and easy-

BUT to go to the PCP gate to search out the HATSAN specific stuff takes more time and I get frustrated and just want to leave- 97.5-98 % of the stuff there has 0 to do with Hatsan

Does some of the info on the PCP gate apply to Hatsan? I don;t know I don't read those threads if the title has nothing to do with the gun I seek info about- too much chit chat I guess is what I am saying to filter down through to get to the good stuff.

So question is how we could make it BETTER? put TURKISH  guns in one spot PERIOD. then divide  that thread into PCP or NOT. ONE gate two departments.

could do that for all brands or by  COUNTY OF  Origin- then break them out into two fields PCP and NOT

DARKSIDE- just sounds wrong any way--- we aren't Rouge Jedi master gone over to the Empire- we shoot air guns. Some are pcp some are not-
 
Using that  logic there should only be ONE gate for ALL springers ( not 7)  and ONE Gate for ALL pcp-  one gate  for pumper guns ....there simple

As I mentioned there are so many gate from the request of members and the GTA staff did so to try and make the majority of the members happy.  But to keep everyone happy is next to impossible.
If I may make a suggestion try and see how the search engine on top of the page works for finding info on Hatsans.  Let me or us know if it works for you.

Is your AT44S-10 QE an earlier or later one? Going by what BWalton has said about his (not a QE) and what Rick Eutsler said in the below video, some things have changed.



And, in answer to your question via message, no, I cannot get the air tube off without seriously flexing the shroud/barrel, or worse, having to remove the stock and/or the shroud, and that is simply not an option. Not only do I not want to flex the barrel and shroud, I do not even want to touch it in changing the air tube. I know enough about PCPs to know that messing with the shroud/barrel, sometimes just bumping it, can change POI, and having to recheck zero defeats the whole "quick change" thing. Not an option. If that is the way it is on these versions, then I will send the rifle back.

Anyone else have QE versions? What's your experience?

Mine is an early model no barrel band-
The Hatsan get banged around abused beat up etc when I take them out NO issue with POI changes ,
not like the mrod I had that would change every time I took off the shroud ,of over tightened the shroud tube
