Hi everyone,
The manual says after each use: all metal parts should be lubricated with a special gun oil to prevent rust and keep gun in good working condition.
The barrel hinges should be lubricated at regular intervals.
Clean inside the barrel when it's fouled.
Use acid and resin free oils only
Question is, what oils /lubs to use. I can probably find a gun oil if I search.
What oil do I use for the barrel hinges and I assume they mean the hinges in play as you cock the gun.
Thanks

I oil my AG's with Hoppe's No. 9 Synthetic Blend Lubricating Oil:
I first give it a wipe down with Hoppe's No. 9 Gun Cleaning Patch (although, these patches are thinner than I like, and will be looking for a thicker pad when these are gone):
Then I lightly coat a pad, then coat the metal parts, then use a clean pad to remove excess oil. I always do a cleaning after each shooting session.
Look forward to other members suggestions as well.

For a wipe down, Ballistol or BreakFree CLP. For years have removed the pivot bolt, cleaned and lubed bolt and hole as well as pivot shims, with JM Velocity Tar or Moly Paste. Lately use MAC1 Secret Sauce on barrel pivots and cocking link pins. Clean the bore with Ballistol on a cotton patch, plus a coupla dry ones after, with a Crown Saver pull thru.

Ok thanks for the replies. Luckily I remembered I had bought a Hoppe cleaning kit that came with regular lubricating oil which I just used to clean my HW 75. I used the small pads included in the kit. A little goes a long way!
I'll use the Hoppe oil to lub the HW 80 barrel hinges and I'll get that pull through device for the bore.
Would there be any other maintance items to do like trigger hinge lub on my HW80? I figure once a year I'd do the lub job and a few times a year I'll clean the metal parts.
