San Rafael R7

Went to the K-ZOO show sunday looking for a San Rafael R7. Came up short. Mentioned it on the yellow and Mark N. mentioned he had one for sale. After a few texts with some pic ladden emails and 2 hours of driving one way, Mark made it all worth it.
This R7 has just one scratch on the stock! What a sweet shooting rifle! So now i am thinking of a scope for it. I want something somewhat in scale with the rifles size. Thinking bug buster. Any suggestions?

A period correct Beeman SS-2 4x Short Scope. Have used them on R7, R9, R10, FWB 300s, FWB 124 as well as a Cr1720t.

It sounds like you snagged a very nice R7!
I'd suggest looking into the Clearidge 3-9x32 scopes. They can be bought with a mildot or duplex reticle. They compare in size and weight to a Leupold efr, but are quite a bit cheaper, especially since you don't have to get a custom shop installed mildot. The glass is quite good, though not quite as clear as the Leupold in my experience.
Enjoy the R7!

Hawke 2-7X32. At 2X will focus a little under 15 feet. Good for indoors.

I shot our HW30S all winter long in the basement with a cheap REX 4x AG scope with AO. The scope fell apart on me, this summer, so not recommending that as a model, but in the process I found that I liked a small straight 4x, sizewise, on the HW30. Took a little practice, but got pretty comfy using 4x for offhand work.
Have also considered a Hawke 2-7x, as Jim mentions.
At the moment, though, going with a peep on the HW30S. Still my favorite sight, but, of course, no sights on the R7.

I am hoping to find a nice lil mildot optic that looks in scale to the R7. I shot it today. At 35 yards, i was easily rockin a 32 ounce gatoraid bottle that was suspended from a clothes line. The audible smack was very satisfying. Also cool was half the pellets actually penetrated the bottle!
