I'll talk with PA tomorrow. I don't want a gun that's not serviceable. I'm concerned that if I put any more torque on it than I have so far, I'll end up with damage I'm stuck with.

Sorry you're having that problem. Maybe try dropping nced a pm. He seems to have a lot of experience with the HW95 specificaly. If I think of anything else I'll chime in again. Wish you luck!

Another website for you to visit (with good pics). Pivot bolt needs to be removed with correct fitting driver and from the proper side. You will also have to remove the sleeve from the piston for the new kit to fit, and you will want to debur the receiver cut outs so the new piston seal doesn't get damaged. After deburing clean out the receiver of all metal shavings. Good luck.

The lock nut is on the right side, looking from the rear. You can see the end of the thru bolt inside the driver slot of the lock nut. Loosen, remove this nut first with a large common screw driver/bit that completely fills its slot. There is a lock washer/wire under it. Lefty-loosey.

After trying both sides of the bolt, with the barrel broken and locked, I still haven't made any progress. I've applied so much torque that I'm seeing slight deformation on the screw slot on each side of the bolt from my efforts. I'm concerned that, if I apply any more pressure, I'm going to break the bolt or damage the screw slot to the point the bolt will have to be drilled out. What perplexes me is the fact that there was no deformation on the screw slots to begin with. How did the factory get this bolt so tight without any signs of deformation? It should take the same amount of force to loosen as to tighten, I would think. That is, unless there's some sort of damage I can't see. Maybe the bolt is cross-threaded?
Anyway, I spoke with tech support at Pyramyd Air. They're living up to their reputation for good customer service. They gave me a few options, of which I selected to do an exchange.
I want to thank all of you for your advice and knowledge. I appreciate all of your help.

Thought I'd post an update: I got the new R9 in yesterday. It was as buzzy as the last one, so I went right to installing the Vortek kit. I had no trouble removing the pivot bolt on this one. PA tech support offered to give my new gun a once-over. Perhaps they loosened up the pivot bolt for me, or maybe this one was just easier to work with. Either way, I'm a happy camper!
The Vortek kit cleaned up the shot cycle better than I could have imagined. The buzz I had before was replaced with a short zap that reminds me of my old Silver Streak. Simply amazing.
