Gamo Big Cat 1000 - Nice Woody, nice new stock...

Got my .177 Gamo back from a mate a few weeks ago after he was nice enough to make me a new stock (hes a carpenter and wanted a project in his downtime...), and after finally resighting it in i managed to take out this nice wood pigeon at approx 25m with a nice clean headshot. First time ive got a kill on this gun in a long time, and i couldnt be happier with how this one turned out.

Good shooting.  Your carpenter friend has got some real talent.  Nice looking rifle.  I started out with a Big Cat with the synthetic stock and barrel shroud and it was a very accurate rifle.

Hi Mike,

He used Tas Oak to make the stock, which is nice because while its quite hardy its also lighter than the original plastic stock It was then stained using "Burnt Gum" varnish + oil, but i can double check on that if interested as he still has the stain.

I wonder what scope you are using currently ?

Hi John,

Currently its wearing a Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x32 AO scope with "target turrets", its not bad for a rimfire scope, but will be upgraded to a scope with a mildot reticle when i get around to it.
