My disco was my fist pcp. I will say that working on the trigger is what ultimately tightened my group. I used the three screw mod, less than $5 total, and a little time to make sure it is safe. That was all I needed. I would recommend doing some trigger work before burning through more pellets.
About half down the page is a picture of the leade on a barrel that needed it taken down to feed the pellets right, many Crosman barrels need a little work.http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=71442.0
An A.O scope is much more important than a bubble level in my opinion. You can align the crosshairs with the horizon, but you can't estimate parallax.

I never really had an issue with my Prowler while using a non-AO, but nevertheless I guess it's worth a shot. I just dread having to rezero the scope I have on it right now, because the tracking on it is terrible (sometimes it moves a little bit with one click, sometimes it moves 2x as much, and sometimes it takes 3-4 shots before it settles down to where it's supposed to go.)

I use the plastic handle (non marring) of my pocket knife. This will help some scopes respond to the adjustments.
I believe that my accuracy issue at this point is the pellets I'm using have skirts that are slightly dented, and I believe if I get a new can with more uniform skirts they will do better. In any case, I will have to order more pellets before I can try anything else.

My pellets came today, but naturally almost as soon as I sat down to shoot it started pouring. I also picked up a can of Piranhas from Walmart, so I'm curious to see how those shoot. I'll try to get some testing done tomorrow once the weather gets better.
