So what did you Order / Receive today ? (to feed the "Beast" that lives within)

My eyes never needed a rifle scope until recently so I am admittedly inexperienced with them.  Well I was on my third cheap 1" scope ($100) today when I leaned my rifle up against the wall and it fell on the rec room carpet floor.  I did not think too much of it until a half hour later when I took a few shots and could not hit anything. Really, could a fall on a carpeted floor cause me to have to re-zero?  The answer was yes.  I removed the scope from the mounts and noticed a deformation where the forward mount had been.  Re-zeroing was beyond the limits of the elevation adjustment.  Lesson learned, ordered a Hawke 30mm scope for my HW35E. Hopefully the tube and bell will be of thicker and better material.

Now I can look back over the last 3 years and see that these inexpensive scopes may not have been losing zero as a result of cheap internals. Likely the front bell was actually getting knocked off center from either similar falls or slight hits here and there.

Your only supposed to let that cheap stuff sit 5 to 10 minutes then wipe it off!
Then you clear coat it if you want. I'd wait a few days for it to dry totally before clear coating.

Darn, my vision is getting too bad to read the tiny print of the instructions, so I just applied it moderately and set it to dry!

Ah well, it's a great learning experience!

Of my rifles, I shot only my HW30 (yep, it's become my favorite!!!!) With it, I bagged four tree rats at various distances (10 yards, 16 yards, 22 yards, and 25 yards) today--simply marvelous!!!!

The enablers down in bargain gate helped me to see the value in buying the Baretta PX4 storm .177 pellet/bb pistol. It arrived yesterday, so with the warmer weather this afternoon, I tried it out. Impressive!

The CO2 loader really worked (I did use the heel rotation plate), it shot hard, and shot rather well. I got 48 shots out of my first 12 gram cart. and degassed the remainder since my wife pointed out how much louder it was than my rifle. I look forward to shooting this one more often.

I received the Huma Air LDC I ordered last week.  I replaced the DonnyFL Tatsu I had on the Crown Continuum with it, it's almost twice the length of the Tatsu, but looks good on that short barrel, and it's quieter as well!  Look out rats!

In that case the rag with turpentine is the way to go...

I did as you suggested and rubbed the grips down with turpentine, which made a little difference in making the stain look slightly more natural.

I'm happy enough with how they came out to not spend much more time on them.

I'll refer back to the advice provided in my other post that asks about grips specifically unless anyone has any other suggestions for how to stain the second set of grips.
