My unf adapter showed up to put on my 2240... and boy do i feel disappointed in myself. Tight tolerances, i couldnt get the adapter on past 1/8" so my dumbars used a hammer... it went maybe 1/8" on more and i cant get it to go further (or even take it off now)


Suprizingly the LDCs from Rocker are a hair noisier than the cheapo one from froggy (thats killing itsself from the inside literally...) maybe needs break in time? Idk. Eitherway i feel stupid for hammering the adapter on... if i get if off, il be sanding the barrel down since i have no tools to enlarge the hole on the adapter.


I hope the "block of wood" trick works... it wouldnt get my 2240 oem sight blade off, i had to use pliers and mess it up with teeth marks.

 If not too late you can use a wood dowel with a slit for sandpaper and open up the LDC a tad, so you don't mess up your barrel !

 before you use the wood block,heat the adapter good and hot with a hair dryer, it helps.
My first adapter I ordered on ebay, and it came from Poland.
I used a dowel and very fine sandpaper inside the adapter to finally get it to fit.

You may have to remove the barrel and put it in a padded vice,(solid)  then heat , put your wood block against it, and whack it with a hammer.
 Worked for me.   jmho

I bought something quite similar a few years ago, though a simpler item. I wondered why the manual said it shouldn't be used below 25 yards, until I heard a pellet whizz back close to my ear and hit the garden cabin behind me
The horizontal parts of the frame are a real hazard, IMHO. But for a good shooter, no danger...

Received two sets of walnut grips from Alchemy Airwerks for my 2240s and/or my 1377s (yes, I ordered another 1377 from Amazon for $30 while it was on sale) and applied Rust-Oleum American Walnut wood stain to the smooth grips.

The stain is still drying, and it looks "not-terrible" for my first attempt at staining wood, but the stain seems very thick and I want the natural grain of the wood to be visible. How can I achieve this? Steel wool? Some kind of secondary liquid treatment? I'm going for satin, not shiny.

I'll take whatever other advice you all have into consideration when I stain the second set, which is checkered.

Did you wipe off the excess stain after letting it set a bit?
If you let the coat of stain dry like you would paint, you can try taking a rag soaked in turpentine or paint thinner and rub them down now.

I tried to use the brush to minimize the amount of stain when I applied it, but I didn't wait for it to set at all first.

The rag in paint thinner seems like a good idea to me. Does anyone disagree with this advice?

If that's the case, try letting it set for a couple minutes, but do not let it "dry" before rubbing it with a clean cloth.
 Some woods take more than one coat of stain to make the grain "pop".

Your only supposed to let that cheap stuff sit 5 to 10 minutes then wipe it off!
Then you clear coat it if you want. I'd wait a few days for it to dry totally before clear coating.

Darn, my vision is getting too bad to read the tiny print of the instructions, so I just applied it moderately and set it to dry!

Ah well, it's a great learning experience!
