Quote from: Rick67 on March 17, 2025, 09:15:07 PMGot the pair and they’re much lighter in color Just as I suspected, they’re nowhere near Vernon Austin’s pedigree but the overall fit, shape, and finish are satisfactory. It’s really hard to go back to satisfactory though once you’ve seen and felt the best Yes, VA’s grips are really that impeccable I even read in the OTHER forum that they’re comparable to the overly expensive German Rink grips that cost almost 3x (?) So, it doesn’t fit what I had in mind just like David’s/Bantam’s Imagined and Outcome thread title or something along those lines.I pride myself in always achieving what I have in mind, so I’m taking another route and use my Blue Fork 1911 Crosman grip adapter as there are lots of beautiful 1911 wood grips out there.I bought Greg’s/BF’s last pair more than a year ago, yes.It may not look much in the picture but the way it was milled and machined is simply astonishing, it doesn’t even have a trace of mill marks. Even the corners and cuts are perfect as well..He’s a genius, no doubt 👍….and there isn’t a single scratch nor ding on them just scuffs brought about by its hyper matte anodizing..Oh, I hate matte, they’re a debris and fiber magnet 🥴I’ll have it powdercoated in silver or silver-grey too and it was supposed to be today but they start their workday on a Tuesday 👍Ordered these today for my Blue Fork 1911 Crosman grip panels.Looks really nice with 1911 OEM brass/hold-plated screws, but BF uses 6-32 so I ordered some hex button brass screws from McMaster as well.I do hope they are as dark as in the pics.

Nothing! Thank goodness..
I really need to stay off Ebay, but I am like a moth to a flame. Current high bidder (with a long way to go) on an old sweet HW.
