From the link, according to the rumor and gossip mill:

"Just picked this up off weihrauch facebook forum.. Just read on UKCAF "To meet current high demands, Weihrauch have contracted Shaoxing Snow Peak to produce the HW95 and HW97. The first production run of the new SPA HW95 and SPA HW97 - due next spring/summer - will be FAC-rated for the US market and likely distributed by Pyramyd Air. Expect the sub-12 ft/lb variety to hit UK dealers sometime in 2017. Surprising to say the least."

IF true, one might expect the production of German-made 95's and 97's to continue, the Chinese-made models aimed for the more undiscriminating, cash-strapped shooters.

Looks to me like someone's trying to start a rumour for fun:

Check out the 2nd post down, which seems to indicate amusement that the HW rumour has already spread to two forums.
The post also mentions an AA break barrel to be announced.
Sounds like a joke to me, but I suppose one could email HW and AA if they wanted verification.

If the rumor has any basis and Weihrauch were to commit the egregious sin of having guns with their moniker on them manufactured in China, those guns would likely be promoted with the old slogan "designed and engineered in Germany" but available at "affordable" prices. Discriminating airgun shooters understand that there would be an inevitable difference between a Weihrauch made in the German factory and one made in China, where low wages and commensurate skill-levels are common.

I had a POS built in China with Walther Force1000? on it. As a first time air rifle buyer, at the time, I somehow thought that Walther's name on rifle meant some quality inside. NOT!!! Lousy trigger fair accuracy.

However, it did teach me to be more discriminating in my choices and purchases thereafter. Note my two toys in the signature line.

The Walther rifle did find a good home though. My daughter uses it to teach kids the basics.

Note the country of origin of your computer? Is it's quality lacking? Check out your shoes, cell phone, camera? Quality is available anywhere "China incl." if one wishes to pay the price.

"Due to high demand" is a crock. They are going to China to increase margins .... pure greed, at the probable expense of quality and control. Yes, you can get some quality out of China, but you have to stand over them with a whip in order to get it. The first time you get lax, the quality will drop. Just sayin'

Deep down I think this is someone's joke. I am sure HW has learned the lesson from Diana. If not old HW rifles will surely go up in value.

I think it is a joke. If they can't keep up with demand they just raise their price a little so there is a little less demand and make more money. In theory a Chinese HW would lower the price and increase demand which would not solve their problem. My theory is a Chinese HW would kill demand and create a whole new, worse problem. If they can't keep up with demand now at their current prices it would make sense to expand their current operations to keep up with demand, or just raise their prices and slow down demand to keep up.

I certainly am not going to be the first to try one. China has earned their reputation for manufacturing junk. For every computer of quality like Apple there are 10 that are at best disposable. You can be happy with a junk computer if you don't know any better, until it dies with all your family photos on it. After being in IT support for the last 25 years I don't know how many times I have heard "Huh, it was working fine yesterday". To which I usually reply "that's what the farmer said about his dead cow"...lol
