Got a new marauder and cant wait to tune it, new chronograph due tomorrow. Read some tunes from crosman web site and wanted to see if my gun was close to what they listed, it said most gun were tuned close to these. Ok so was going to check the transfer port screw for factory setting and when i tried to loosen the little brass plug, it stripped the hex port where allen wrench goes, now I am stuck, what is the next step, I could return I guess but dont want to be without it for 6-8 weeks. Is there a simple fix for this. Help me please, motorhead, rstene, Rayk, Ribbonstone, I know you must have had this problem before, thank you very much in advance.

I don't think I've ever seen a screw extractor that small, so that is probably not an option.
I think first I would check my allen wrenches for any worn rounded ends.
if I was to see ANY evidence, I would touch them up with a fine grinder, removing the worn end.
also, since you say the plug is stripped, maybe a metric wrench might get just enough grab for a one time use ?
again, first check to see if it is worn.
maybe try a q-tip with a drop of penetrating oil first and let it sit a while before trying to turn the screw ?
also, if you do get a wrench to fit, make sure you get it in the screw as deep as possible, and apply counter clockwise pressure SLOWLY, and just maybe you will get it to break free.
if you do get it out, do not re-use it.
Good luck, hope it works.

great place to start is with the info tri-5-ron gave you, also if you can't get a Allen in firmly, try a over sized torx, may give you a bite good enough to loosen if you tap in in deep on the end of a driver while applying pressure counter clockwise,or lefty loosey ,next i recommend try tightening a bit first, then loosen, and replace the Allen after its out, good luck, and congrats on you m-rod,,

I know a great trick for this.
Find a drill bit that barely fits into the stripped hex head of the set screw. Break the drill bit and grind slightly flush (won't need to do that if it break right). Now use the drill bit backwards into the hex head and reverse on the drill very slowly and with force.
Best, cheapest easy out in a pinch.

Torx bit or some people all them star bits. Find one that is the same size or just a hair bigger. Tap it into the Allen head & try to unscrew it that way Works for me every time

The Torx bit will normal work. I use it often on those darn little breech screws of the Disco

torx bit works almost all the time or a small flat head screw driver tapped down light and twist out. The good thing here is a drill bit will do the job well also just drill threw soft brass plug and it will hit hard metal screw below that will stop it.

I used a torx bit as suggested, driven in slowly with small hammer took a quarter in. drive socket and handle and slowly backed it out. A couple of people suggested that and it worked great, thanks to all who offered advice, I knew you guys could help. Im new to this and still learning.
