Hi everyone,I ordered hw95 in .22 cal from AOA. and as I wait...Ive read as much as possible on caliper .177 vs .22,Iam torn between theses two calipers. The distance about 18 to 35 yds. What velocity for stock 95 in 22cal?.If I change my mind on cal. do you think AOA would change order to the .177 cal, as the gun wont be in till mid july.Iam back and forth on this every day as I wait.I dont hunt often but would like to kill possum or raccoon at this distance,on occasion. But mostley tardets 18 to 35 yards, your comments will be greatly appericiated. Thanks to all

Call AOA as soon as possible and I'm sure they will work with you. I purchased mine from them in 177 a few years back and they were great to work with over the phone. I'm sure however that what ever you go with, 177 or 22 will be fantastic. A bit more smack with the 22. good luck, congratulations and welcome to the GTA If I haven't said so in other posts!

That's a great deal from straitshooters.com $469.95 for checkered stock, gold trigger and free shipping. That'll work too!

Buyer's remorse is a terrible thing!
There is an old saying (that I just made up!): "you can't have too much gun but you can darn sure have too little!"
For animals up to opossum size at the ranges you are talking about, I would prefer a .22 over the .177. More mass and a bigger pellet diameter would make me happy. I did some studies a few years ago on what people had actually used to hunt and kill what animal.
The results are attached here. Note that groundhogs, tough animals similar in size to opossums, were handled well by a .22 but no one reported getting one with a .177.
For hunting at the ranges you suggest - stick with the 22
