They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

I bought myself a Heritage 2260 and steel breech for my birthday last year. I got the Christmas discount. It compares to the 2240 with long barrel and a wooden stock. Crosman did a fair job with this one. IMO. It's by no means a power house but I'm sure it could be bumped up a bit. I'm gonna just shoot mine the way it is with a compact scope. It very accurate within it's limits.

so why does the heritage cost more than the normal 2260 is it because its because they're a limited run?

The Heritage does not come with a steel breech. The 2260MB that PA sells does and it's around $169. The Heritage comes with the hardwood stock and if mine is not walnut, I can't tell. This is a limited addition and they did drop them awhile back. And as I said, I really like this gun but if you are looking for power it's not there but, I'm sure it could be because it will take all the mods a 2240 will.

Actually, the QB series CO2 shooters are pretty good air rifles, from what I have read and watched in videos. They do use, two CO2 cartridges, while the 2260 uses one. Rick, at airgunweb.com does a test on one. They also make some really nice looking competition level QB's.

What reason/s would there be to purchase this Crosman over the QB? I like the QB (Deluxe) F/O sights better, but these will mostly see use with scopes. I do like that traditional safety placement at the rear of the trigger guard on this Crosman, but perhaps the trigger is not as good as the Qb.

It turns out that the qb78 is actually a copy of the old crosman 160 , I guess that everyone was po'd when they stopped making it so some guy had a copy custom built and took it to China to be used as a reference to produce what we know as the qb78.

The qb78 runs on powerlets, the qb79 runs off of a paintball tank. I personally like being able to use the paintball tank, because it's cheaper and a 9oz tank gives hundreds of shots. When I had a qb79, I filled my tanks at my second job. This matters, since I find that many sporting good store employees cannot get a good fill on co2 tanks because they don't know that they must cool the tank off first (I exhaust co2 until the tank is frosty, then I'm guaranteed a good fill).
if you're looking for a co2 rifle to hunt with, and want a 12fpe gun, you can order a QB repeater from AA. The repeaters are tuned for more power than the non repeaters.

I have a Sheridan 2260MB (its just a crosman 2260 that came with a steel breech and a higher price tag) that I bought from another GTA member for a great deal and I love it, very fun to shoot and accurate. I have a Leapers 4x32 AO scope on mine and it will shoot 1/2 inch groups at 20 yds all day long. They aren't the most powerful rifles by any means but I did read an article by Tom Gaylord who said you can take rabbits out to 25 yards with good shot placement. I just target and plink with mine. There are a ton of mods you can DYI or buy to make make it more powerful as well.
