NP or NP2?

I have been wanting to get a gas piston rifle with a wood stock in .22 caliber. I purchased another brand but have just returned the 2nd rifle. The first one was making a slight grinding noise when cocked. The 2nd one it looked like factory cut the spot for the breech seal too deep as the seal was flush. The gun was so weak I could actually see the pellet going towards the target. This time I am exchanging for a Benjamin. I can't make up my mind on the NP XL 1100 or the NP2. I was leaning towards the XL 1100 because I already have .177 & .22 caliber NP2's with synthetic stocks. I know I will replace the trigger on either one. I already have a scope to replace the scopes that would come with the rifles. Thoughts?

If you already have the NP2 in 0.177 & 0.22, I would go with the NP XL.

I would just buy a wood stock and switch stocks out as whim calls.
I thought the NP2 was the next gen XL model, since it has similar power?

NP XL & NP2 are very different.
"Next Gen" would infer difference. Ram and trigger tech advancments aside, the power seems in the same ballpark is my query.

I think most people have posted the NP2 to be slightly lower powered than the NP XL.
With equivalent pellets (CPHP), my NP2 has 21 fpe, while my NP XL has 26 fpe at the muzzle.

Go with the NP XL725. It is .25 caliber and a very well reviewed with lots of power and accuracy. But, remember, with great power comes great responsibility!! And lots of recoil!!

I think I'm going with the XL since I already have the 2 NP2's. I want to try something different this time.
