I have had this one a couple years and simply dont use it. I dont reach for it and its a shame its a fine example and nearly perfect visually and functionally.
Now I know this is not the sales area so this is NOT A FOR SALE AD. I am looking for a idea of a selling price.
Just looking for advice on a sale price and value. I have the original box and manual. Gun is all but perfect. small abrasion to the top of the comb on the butt is its single flaw. now its a used gun so its not out of the wrapper pristine. But far better than average for its age.
I thought about eBay as I might make a bit more. But would rather sell here (In classifieds) to someone here who would appreciate it.
Gun broker, shows a few now and then and may be a good target price as they sell there.
Ideas and comments welcome.

That is a nice 140! Much better condition than my 2nd variant. I noticed that its not grooved. I guess only the Sears 140 4th variants are grooved. I picked mine up off of America airgun 2 months ago from Jim Evans. A selling point or "the" selling point to go off of is his 140's. The guy always has 140 for sale. Literally every 2 weeks he puts up 3-4 more Crosman, Sears, Hawthorne 140's with an occasional daisy or 2100. I have no clue where or how he always has them for sale. Its like he works for Crosman or bought an old factory and just spit shines them and puts them up. I got mine for 80 shipped. I just searched Jim Evans over there hahaha:

So you can thank him for the market being low for a 140. Every now and than a 140 comes up for 120-140 from him and its usually the grooved ones.
Now i had to do a number to my 140 to get it shooting well. Replace a few screws, unbend barrel, replace transfer port, fix crown, adjust piston length, to name a few. But she is deadly now! Not appealing to the eyes nor for safety, but to a shooter? Lights out for any unsuspecting victim. Its a shame you have to many guns to not enjoy. Someone will give her some much needed TLC.

There's no doubt that older 140's with the through the stock safety can be had for around $100 but the one you have Brian is in working condition, has the newer style trigger, original finish along with the box and paper work. I have not seen a 140 like yours for sale but I think the price will have to be more in line with the Crosman 1400 and it's variants. They come up for sale on American Airguns Classifieds for around $140 without the box and paper work. I think the selling price for your gun with the box and paper work should be around $200. I think it's really worth more than that because I don't see many 140's with that trigger and the box alone is hard to find. I have only seen the box in pictures.
I think it's a buyers market right now when it comes to all collectables and have been taking advantage of it. I posted several guns recently and got some responses but didn't make any deals. I'm still thinking about selling my Hatsan 135 but I'm going to just sit on the vintage stuff I have and wait until sellers have the upper hand. That may be awhile but that just means there's more time to buy.
