What zero distance is better for .22 cal?

so guys what is the best zeroing distance for a .22 cal springer?
So I have the RWS 460 .23 cal.
The first day out I was doing a lot of hold over and under, shooting from 15 to 100 yards.
I was looking at vids on YouTube but the guys was giving advise on a 12 fps air rifle and I believe my rws 460 .22 cal it's well over 12 fps. Rifle, so I that's so,
what is the best distance to zero my scope at?

I'm sure some more experience than me guys will pipe in, however, IMHO your question can only be answered by your main shooting distance. With that rifle you won't be shooting pest birds or small furry pest at more than 30-35 yards on a regular basis. If it is regular, you will quit early and go home because not many springers, and fewer shooters are capable of consistently hitting the quarter size bull at that distance necessary to dispatch those aforementioned pests. Some PCPs and some pumpers are capable. Know your limits and zero your scope for that distance. I shoot mostly CO2, (QB78, Discovery, and a couple of pumpers.) My personally set max distance for pesting is 35 yards. The accuracy is there for further but not the power. I zero my Discovery at 25 yards, QB and pumper at 20. Set your own limit by shootin paper targets at 20, 30, 35, and 40 yards, the furtherest distance you can group a quarter size group, consistently, is your limit.

  The "12fpe" would depend on what pellet your using,best guess is yes your over 12fpe with the 460. I agree it would all depend on ranges your accurate and consistant with.If it was me I would zero at 45/50yrds and then practice your holdover.  Again,these are just ranges I hunt.

Get Hawke Chairgun Pro and put your pellet in it with velocity if you can.

Maximum zero range should generally be where you can get sub 1 inch groups or for an airgun where your bullet trajectory gives the maximum pbr, which ever is lower and normally rounded down to the nearest 5 yards.

JSB Exacts (15.9gr) will give a pbr of 41 yards with a 35 yard zero if you can hold the groups.

.... 25 or 30 yards .... there you go

Probably at around 33 yards your pellet is on the top of his curve. So that would be my distance to zero. Every distance before or after the zero distance can be corrected with your milldots.

If you really want to know the real top of the curve, try to play with Chairgun...
