I had a nice little plink with my favorite reactive targets. With each hit, the distance increases. I started offhand, then as my hit percentage decreased, switched to kneeling, and finally seated FT style. I discovered my kneeling position is much more wobbly than my standing. I need to fix that.
HW50S, Vortek SHO, Simmons 6.5-20x44, Straight Shooters muzzle brake.

Nice looking rifle and scope combo!  I love to shoot those practice golf balls around the yard also.   It can get to be quite a challenge when they get waaaay out there.  They seem to be making them cheaper these days, I have split a lot of them open with very few shots.  They just don't seem to be lasting as long.  I have noticed that the lower power rifles make them jump farther per shot compared to the higher powered stuff. 

How do you like that Simmons scope?  Have you had any POI shift when adjusting the AO?  Is it clear?  I ask because I am looking to try some other brands of scopes for some of my rifles and I am not sure what to get.  I don't want to break the bank but I want some better quality than what I have with the Hawke brand.  Too many issues with 3 out of 4 that I have owned.

I like the Simmons scope. I bought it on sale maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and I'm not sure they still make this model. It is very crisp at 20x in daylight but seems less crisp in the dark. I have a Leupold that is much better in low light, but cost 3x as much. The mildots are much fatter than I've seen on other scopes and can obscure small targets at longer ranges, but the crosshairs themselves are not too thick. The turret clicks are a bit soft. It resonates with each shot, probably due to its light weight construction, but it has held up on an R9, an HW77, a Pro Elite, and now the 50. I will probably test the scope on paper at some point in the future, but for now I'm just happy that it holds zero and has a good image. I really don't have enough experience with optics to compare it with current models in its class.
