CO2 on Benjamin Mrod .22 did anyone try it?

How hard is it to switch and is it decent power or step down from HPA?
I got 2x 20lb Tanks! They are same as what is used in restaurants soda machines. Would I be able to use them?

I bought my gen 2 .177 Mrod used from a member here that was shooting it on bulk co2 in his basement.

I shot it some on co2, then I de gassed it, pumped it up with hpa, set the adjustments to some suggested by Tim hill,and never looked back.

It's been holding hpa for over a year, so yes it can be done.

You get less velocity, but a higher shot count than  Hpa.

Co2 is also temperature sensitive, where hpa isn't...

Yes you should be able to use them, just degas the rifle, then charge it with co2 LIQUID
 You will probably have to turn the bottles upside down to get the liquid, unless they have siphon tubes.

Remember, co2 runs at nominally, 850 +\-psi.

You will need to re adjust your settings for co2.

Record the settings you are using now so you can go back to them...

If your shooting bench rest you can leave the rifle teathered to the big tanks and get somewhat less than a million 😉 shots. Shooting teathered is just like having a regulated gun a constant 850 psi if in a suitable temperature.

That sounds great. I wish there was someone that would trade this two tanks of co2 and the regulator for scuba tank. I'll just sell this and use $$ to get me scuba or another ninja. Thank you guys fire responding.

If you had caught me 2 months ago, we would have made a deal, I gave away ($50) a scuba tank.
With current hydro.

I was moving, and I had "outgrown" the scuba tank, as my current tune/fill pressure is 3100psi, so if it don't hold 4500psi, or hand pumped, it won't fill my rifle many times..

A used 80cf, scuba tank on Craigslist runs $50-100, and a fill station is available on eBay for ~$24 shipped.

Most places charge about $40 for a hydro and fill.
And the hydro is good for 5 years.

$6 to $12 to fill depending on where you live, I have heard higher prices but average is less than $12 for sure, mine was always around $6 to $9. I now have a compressor so I dont need to get them filled. With my Disco I could shoot for a whole month on my 100 CF tank filled to 3300 PSI, I could get well over a 100 fills if filling to 2000 PSI.

The 80 CF tanks will give you over 80 Fills... thats 20 shots per fill so 20 x 80 = 1600 shots...

I'm really interested in scuba tank now! You guys got me lol  so there is something on Craig's list in my area and guy have this listed:
"Scuba Tank 100 cu in Aluminum - $125 Scuba Tank. Aluminum 100 set up for NITROX. It is actually full of 32%. It will need both test completed before next fill."

This too me looks like Cu. Feet not Cu. inch. Is this 3300k?

Yes it's a 3300 psi tank.

If you used it on a marauder, filling from 2000 psi to 2900, it would refil the rifle 24 times.

Yes I have Benjamin Marauder .22 Which I don't go past 2900 PSI.

Gosh, I posted above for fill calculations for a Disco, didn't realize for some reason you are filling a Mrod. 

Anyway a 100 CF tank filled to about 3400 PSI will give you 30 fills, My 100 CF tank can go 10% higher than 3300 but I usually go to about 3400, not all tanks can go 10% so make sure it can if you do fill it over a little, follow manufactures instructions.

I used mine to fill my Mrod and when it got to low for the Mrod and still above 2000 PSI i used it to fill my Disco. Works great and new I think I paid $278 for it out the door.
