Has anyone had any problem with them?

 I've ordered 4 rifles from them along with some pellets and accessories. They are a brick and mortar store front first and formost. Online sales is a "second job" for them. You will have the best results by calling them directly although I have always dealt with them via email myself (it just takes a while)...

I will still do more business with the in the future, but don't expect your order the next day

I have purchased 4 rifles from them also and never had an issue. They test fire your rifle and check it for function before they ship. It usually takes a day or two before they ship. I have had good dealings with them since 2007.  Call them and order over the phone. You will most likely have to leave a callback number and they will get back to you, just FYI.  It's better than waiting on hold!

They take longer to ship than PA, but also check the gun out for free.

AOA is staffed by airgunners. Airgunsmiths, bench rest shooters, hunters, field target competitors etc. Visiting the shop to see and handle some of the premier air guns in the world and talk with an knowledgeable individual is a treat. Waiting in line at the store or on the line is annoying, but when it's your turn you get undivided attention until all your questions are answered. If you need immediate attention then you are probably better served elsewhere.

       3 guns here, and no problem with the guns. They are a little slower on delivery. Pellets are another story. Ordered 2 sleeves, and 1/2 the tins damaged. The sleeves broke open, and they rattled around in an oversized box. They don't pack them very well.

Nothing but good from AoA.  Just got another rifle from them last week.  I got it in one week.  I just call my order in.  They have an option where you can stay on hold or enter your phone number in and they will call you back when your turn comes up.  That works really well.

I live close enough to buy my pellets at the store. The variety is excellent and the prices reasonable. Ordering pellets online is a crapshoot.   I've been lucky with Amazon and Walmart when I've ordered because the deal was hard to pass up ($4 .17 Superdomes). Pyramyd does the best job of packaging. Putting together a pellet order big enough order to get free shipping and  1 free with every 4 tins is as good as it gets.

I am privileged enough to be able to visit. I FIRST started 10yrs back, when they were in the original location. An old home with a 'workshop' out back. There, I've been helped by the owner more than once. Made my first purchases there.

NOW, they are in a nice commercial building with proper showroom and huge warehouse space. Employees are the order of the day. I've had a young'n or two with enthusiasm and pneub knowledge, and I've had the manager a couple of times. I would steal him away for my own retail business if I had one, LOL. Yes, be patient if you visit and you will be helped in turn.

I do contend however, that they are GREATLY focused on mail-order as the core of their business. It's rather obvious, since someone always walks out from the back INTO the showroom when the giant cowbell clangs to signal someone's entry.

I've purchased a total of 4 airguns from AOA. The first 2 were ordered over the phone. They arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I've also ordered several scopes.

We were visiting family in AZ so stopped by the store for the 3rd purchase. They didn't have the exact model in stock but expected a shipment the next week and would send it. They did and I received it [home in CA] again in perfect condition.

Great company . . . SO FAR.

However, my 4th purchase again took place at their store. I decided I wanted an FX Ranchero Carbine, a $1500 pistol. No problem they said. I soon learned that the FX is made in Sweden [and it is a beautiful piece of machinery] but the stocks are made by someone here in the states.

They keep the Ranchero separate from the stocks so it can be put into a wood [beautiful BTW] or a plastic one.

There was a delay as I stood there in their showroom. I could see into their work area in the back as some guy went to work on my new wood stock with a die grinder. The salesman came out and said the single bolt that held the gun into the stock didn't quite line up so they were "taking care of it".

Finally after about a half-hour they brought the assembled gun out to me. It looked beautiful. The sales guy also said they had pressurized the tank about half full which was all they could put in it at the moment for some reason.

We were traveling so I paid and we left. That night we arrived at our destination and I pulled the gun from its box and all the air had leaked out.

It wasn't until a day later when we finally arrived home that I got a chance to see how badly they had butchered my new gun.

For reference, I've owned a machine shop for over 40 years. I know quality vs: poor machine work. Their "gunsmith" had wallowed-out the inside of the wood stock with the die grinder [with a rotary burr in it] and then installed the screw at an angle [because it didn't originally line up] and buggered some of the threads in the aluminum FX receiver.

Naturally I was really bummed. This all occurred a year and a half ago. For those reading this that might ask "why didn't you return it under warranty?". If you've actually read this long report . . . the answer should be obvious.

Unfortunately AOA is the only authorized repair station in the USA [that I could find] for FX airguns.

I joined the FX forum and over the past year and a half I've posted several times asking if ANYONE has any info on servicing these airguns. No response. I've also emailed FX in Sweden with my comments and never received any response.

I did initially fill and fire the gun a couple of dozen times. The accuracy is what you'd expect from a PCP. It is a handy length and really cool looking. But it will only hold air for a couple of hours. I was so irritated with the whole thing that since that initial shooting it has been languishing empty in my safe.

So bottom line, I have had good service when ordering new airguns from AOA. They are packaged well and the prices are fair. Delivery times are good. But I could never recommend having any gunsmith work done by them.
