Real pleased with the new R11

Picked up an R11 recently. Gun shot really nice out of the box but was pretty twangy, at least for me. So last week I ordered a full power Vortek kit and over the last few days I managed to get things put together and mounted my trusty Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 3-9x40 on it. Got out early this morning and got to do some group work and start breaking in the kit. I put about a 100 down range at 25 yds and as well as things were looking there thought I'd slip on out to 50. Here's a group at 50 with a note to my buddy Joe Palone...thanks Joe for the advice on the gun my friend! Haven't put it over the Chrony yet but I know it's running a little hotter than stock. It's fly accurate too!

Congrats on the R11.  IMO it may very well be the best spring rifle made.

Congratulations and well done.  The R11/HW98 is a terrific shooter.  It now seems that MOA at 50 yards is the standard. (And I thought that wasn't possible with a springer.)  All the more impressive is that it was done with a 3-9 scope.  Well done, indeed!

For me, I really struggle with my aging eyes, glasses, and higher power scopes. Even setting up the scope for use without glasses on, I am just more comfortable at a lower power. I know I am more stable at 6-9 power than I am at 12-16, and if I want to shoot my tightest  groups, I'll crank it up and set the parallax then dial back down on the power. I've been practicing at 12-16x, but it really make the eye box a lot smaller and less forgiving.
