umarex fusion broke, won't cock

So I was shooting the fusion, and went to pull the bolt back and nothing. The bolt won't pull all the way back, and certainly won't cock. This almost brought a tear to my eye, it was such a good gun before this. I got it on clearance for about 80% off, so it's really heartbreaking.

I am past my 30 day return period. I can return it without a receipt though and get store credit, which will likely be slightly less than what I paid since the gun probably went through another price drop since I bought it (I am intimately familiar with the inner workings of this store, and am 100% sure of what I just said).

or I can deal with warranty repair through umarex. I never sent in the product registration card....

or I can fix it myself...

thoughts? Advice?

If it were me,  I would go ahead and open it up and start to learn the intricacies of its workings for self repair.

Have you done anything to the trigger ?   Could the trigger block have shifted and all it needs is for you to loosen the screws holding it and slide it forward ?

If it shot well and you were happy AND you were unwilling to mess with it, send it in for warranty.

If you cant fix it I have one here less the barrel that I am doing nothing with. maybe that would help.

A cheap gun that you love, and happened to shoot well until now.  Sounds like the first springer I tuned.  I think you need to tear it down and lean to work on it.  If something needs to be replaced, I would bet Mike Melick of Flying Dragon has it on hand.

There are just the two screws to remove the trigger group. You may try and remove the trigger group to see if the bolt pulls back.  If it doesn't it may be something like the cocking pin is loose.  The air gun itself is not hard to figure out and work on.  You may want to give it a try.  JMO

Ok, I'll open it up when I get home. I'm hoping its something simple. I guess it's one of those things that once opened up, it should be obvious.

I took it apart and looked everything over. I started messing with the bolt and it seemed fine. So I put it back together and now it works....

There is a little play in installing the trigger group.  It can be set either a little more forward or back.  To far back and the bolt may not cock.  I should have mentioned that earlier.  Duh

But now that you have been inside I bet you are thinking of mods... maybe a heavier hammer spring for 15 cents from the hardware store to start out... muahahahaha

The trigger group can stand a little polishing at contact points, (now that you had it open and see how easy it all comes apart).
I adjusted mine down to a 2# trigger (much better than stock).
I ended up bulking mine, great little .177

If it happens again you might want to check the power adjustment screw. When it is to far in you will not be able to cock it.
