Excellent shooting.  You could take a B3 and make it seem like a match rifle.

When I lived in Green Bay the mosquitoes were strong enough to carry off small Vikings fans.  Even if I were as good a shot as you, there still wouldn't be enough pellets in the world for all the mosquitoes.  You know how they say exhaled CO2 attracts the little monsters?  A Crosman 2240 at dusk on a still summer night is a really bad idea.  Trust me.

Oh, I believe you. I use mosquitoes as a gauge of shooting conditions. If the mosquitoes are really bad and consistently so, while sitting at the bench, I know conditions are good for shooting at 50 yards. If they back off a bit or come and go, I know a breeze is present and probably not the ideal time to shoot.

my 85 Blue Streak and get on to putting the peep sight ON it.

Great shooting! I'm trying to avoid buying a Sheridan but the more I read about them the more I'm impressed with them! Still I'm not gonna buy one. Nope not gonna. Ain't happening. But still, you can't  have too many vintage pumpers ....

I really prefer to shoot our Dans with the peep sight, too. Just seems more in keeping with the type of gun than a scope, though we do have one Dan that is scoped.

My goal with this '72 Dan was to see just how hard it would be to shoot with factory open sights and maybe, just maybe, get down to an inch or less at 50 yards. Well, after a lot of shooting, I can report that the factory sights at 50 yards are a challenge to use, but not impossible. Went out, this afternoon and got my inch groups at LONG last. Yeah!



This time, though, I was using the Crosman Premier 14.3s in the brown box. Found a box of them collecting dust in a local gunshop, so thought I'd give them a try. Looks like another good pellet choice for the Dan. Try some if you can find them.

All 50 yard shooting was with 6 pumps. Not sure if there would be any advantage to going 8, but 6 was about all I could physically handle, anyway.

for me with my 1979 blue streak I was getting one hole groups at 20 yds with the crosman made cylindrical pellets ,so I guess I lucked out cause that's what my gun likes. anyway for me a real blue streak is the most perfect air gun ever made everything about it fits me perfectly, so that may also account for the accuracy I experience with it.

Thats usually MORE than enough!!  My wife can only get 3-4 pumps in the Dans or Benjis. She likes the disco better. Called it "her" rat shooter the other day when she told me she was almost out of pellets!  That tin was new just a month ago!!  LOL
