I got the regulator installed and after fiddling with it, got it working like I wanted. I first tried it set at 115 bar with no preload but was still a little hotter than I wanted. I was getting an average velocity of around 915 fps. I noticed I was still getting pellet spiraling on some shots. So I pulled it out and set the pressure to 110 bar. Now I get an average velocity of 895 fps for 40 shots. This is with 18.13 gr JSBs. I tested Crosman Ultra Magnums 14.3 gr and got 945 fps; withe JSB 15.9 I got 928 fps average so I'm sticking with 18 gr pellets. Here's an official stream. Just 10 shots but it's pretty much the same for 4 magazines

896, 896, 892, 899, 895, 894, 898, 900, 895, 897.

I don't even have to refer to the actual numbers, the first shot is 899 fps and after this all shots falls between 893-896 fps for 4 mags

Hey Norm after a while that 3es will drop to 2

That is the perfect speed for the 18.13gr that is where my .22 is tuned at....895fps 40 shots is awesome! With a 3fps ES!

That's good to know. BTW I'm loving the new crowns. I'm not so good at target shooting because I always mess up something to spoil a great group, but I was able to hit 10 out of 10 paintballs at 50 yards. They are dime sized so I will use that as a measurement instead of targets....

10/10!@ 50yards I would say that my crown job + regulator has made one deadly accurate rifle! I am glad that you like the work!

I'm going to go ahead and use a reg in my bt65 22 cal. Low es and the ability to slow pellets down seems like a win win

That was my reason for getting one. If I was having problems with pellets being too hot in my AT44 long I can imagine what speeds the BT65 is shooting them.

Blackdiesel: The Huma's are pricey, but the results speak for themselves

Baxter: Have you purchased a special crowning bit for your lathe or just use a regular cutting tool at 11 degrees?
If you are OK with it, can you show a pic of a "Baxtered Crown" -> as I may re-crown all my airguns using such method.

I got so caught up with the performance I probably went through 300 pellets just looking at shot counts....

Yeah @ 40 shots a string 5 strings is 200 pellets

I thought you were referring to the crown, not the breach (pictured).
So it seems you put a 11 degree crown on the muzzle, + square off the breach and take a few thou off the inside, breach chamber?

Does that sound about right ?

Hey Guys, Now you can see why I MUST use a scope for anything over 10 yards

These 56 YO eyes play tricks on me, plus there is a lot of shinny metal in that picture and not much contrast.
Going back to the crown:
1) You just square muzzle.
2) Then take a few thou of the interior of barrel.
As you can see, I can't $:-\$
