80k barrel advice

Hoping I can shorten up my hw80 barrel a bit and don't know where to start. I'd really like to keep the iron sights. I'm not sure if I'll have any luck on the classifieds with this one. Maybe there's someone on this forum who can do a little custom work on this? Not sure. This things such a beast of a gun to be walkin and climbing around With I almost wAna trade it for a hw95l. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I do not advise shortening the barrel. I don't know about Weihrauch but the better guns usually have a choked barrel. The choke is a reduction of diameter in the last inch or so of barrel length. If removed accuracy will suffer. It could be prohibitively expensive to have the barrel shortened correctly.

It can be done........... there are people who can do it ---keeping the front sights wouldn't be an option....that would be the cost prohibitive side of the equation. I know john in PA can chop ,crown and choke if need be , there are others.
I would check with chambers, just order a barrel and forget the front sights...jmtcw.
Good luck and happy shootin!

Yeah I know it would need to be rechoked and what not. Thanks for the advice. I'll look into a carbine barrel that will have a break. If I order from chambers it should have everything I need to switch it right? I'm guessing the carbine version will be an r1 version too. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hoffman, the barrel you are looking for is an "80 K" model ,K for "Karbine". That type of barrel is favored in the U.K. ,but they are all limited to sub 12 ftlb power in air rifles. The shorter barrel in a full power HW80 might increase cocking effort .
If your HW80 is in good condition you might well be able to trade someone a similar condition HW95L. I would only consider a trade with someone who has an established and good reputation on the classified board.

Petey thanks for the link bud.
Twbryan luckily I work construction and it keeps my scrony arms in shape (I'm actually breaking apart and hauling buckets of concrete stairs from what was once a bulk head) so the cocking force is not a problem. As for the trade I understand what your saying I'm pretty skeptical on it but we'll see what happens. I'm not ready to give up on my 80 just yet but if funds don't permit anytime soon we'll see what happens. Hope your enjoying your new 95l. Still jelous! Btw.. If I get a 95 I'll trade stocks with Ya!;p

We put a muzzle break on it. I don't want to speak for Tim but I have had him cut scope grooves on other guns. I don't see why the barrel would be any different. Price for the cut and crown was very reasonable.

Hoffman,I've had jobs like that before. It's why I'm in the shape I am now.
I don't know about the stock trade,I'm kind of getting used to the fancy stock.

Luxus is wonderfully light and handy compared to the HW77. As to the hard work, where I am now is crippled and on disability. Just be careful you don't hurt yourself with whatever you do.

An R9/HW95,99 or an R10/HW85 barrel will work. The R1/HW80 cocking link will need to be used though.

Twbryan I try my best im gettin the hang of it all so far!
Yrok does not seem like a bad idea I didn't even think of that! So I would just need to replace the linkage from my 80. I'll look into that.
I did talk to Tim briefly through email and he can not re attach the sight. So we'll see when the time comes what I will do buy a 95 barrel or a 95l. Or both! Who knows.. All I can say is $$$
