I just bought this on sale at a "big box" retailer. I checked Pyramid Air site (where I bought my Benjamin), and they have some Swiss Arms airguns, but not this one. On sale for $60 (reg $119), so hard to pass up. It's .177 cal, spring piston, wood stock. It has no serial number!. It is nowhere near the quality of my Ruger Blackhawk (Umarex) .177, but for the price what the heck.

This model was issued a recall by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (.gov) in 2013. They say it may fire with safety on. This is probably due to safety design - just a tab behind the trigger. If you don't fully engage it, you can pull the trigger. Proper gun handling (never point, etc.) should resolve this.

It got bad reviews on the store's own review page (1.5 stars out of 5). Most complaints were typical new springer type - accuracy out-of-box, etc. I'm taking it out tomorrow & will report. I will NOT add to my forum signature list until it proves itself ...

I was tempted to buy a few at $39 and give them to grandkids for Christmas. But I figured if they were really junk it would turn them off to shooting.

I bought one at a flea market. It's a re-branded B2. As you said the safety doesn't work. I tried turning it up side down to see if it would work that way. Didn't. I'm gonna' take it off. The trigger is real light, 1-2 lbs.. The shape of the trigger is nice. Shot pretty good for awhile then the sear quit catching. I didn't tear it down. Took it out of the stock, took the barrel off and soaked the reciever in gasoline over night. Next day poured 5 or six Coke cans of gas thru it, let it dry, squirted a little oil in it, works perfect now. Still has a light trigger. I'm going to put a better scope on it and see how it does. Knock the iron sights off add a muzzle weight and maybe a slip-on recoil pad with some old pellets in the bottom to weight the back end. I had an old B2 I did that to and it was a good shooter. Later.

I had it out at the range today & it actually shot very well. I was hitting empty shotgun shells at 25 yds consistently (.177's are hard to see on targets even w/ binoculars). The spring is very light - I almost thought it was broken. This turned out to be a plus since I had physical therapy on my shoulder.

As for the grandkids, I might recommend against it for just the reason you stated: The quality overall is not good, and I'm sure you can find something better for a bit more. Trust me, the XT32 will never be accused of being a great air gun! I treasured the 1st air gun I got so much I replaced it after being stolen (Benjamin 392).

Thanks for the feedback. I saw "re-branded B2" somewhere else, but I don't know what a B2 is (make?). When you say "soaked the receiver," are you saying the spring tube or just the breech of the barrel? THX!

B1, B2, B3 etc. Cheap basic chinese air rifle. $30-$40. All the chinese air gun factories make versions of them, some are becoming nice guns. Low quality but fun and easy to work on, tune, modify and if you mess it up no big deal. You can google them, plenty of info. Chinese do make some nice guns, Ruger, TF, XS, Beemans, Industry Brand etc.

When the cheap chinese guns come they're full of grease and oil. To stop the smoking, dieseling and accuracy killing oil blowing down the barrel shooters tear'em down, clean'em and lightly oil them. If I don't plan doing any tune or mods I just take it out of the stock, take the barrel, breach and cocking linkage off ( comes off in one piece) and soak the receiver with the main spring, piston and seal and trigger assembly still installed. Next day pour some more gas thru it till I think it's clean, let it dry and lightly oil it. I'm sure that violates some rule in the air gun bible and I'll burn for it but they're my guns and it works.

I decided to officially add the XT32 to my collection list. I had it out today & it's shooting very well - may be destined to be a ringer. Despite some initial quality issues, we've "bonded" in that special way that airgun & air gunner do.

Had it out at the range today & shot very well. I really like this airgun for it's cost.

Added better pics - taken outdoors in it's natural habitat. Wood stock has a raised cast/comb built-in.

It does have a pretty nice looking stock for the price. When I get time I'll shoot it some more. Occupied with some other guns right now.

The XT32 has "disappeared" from the website of the store where I bought it. AFTER I wrote a favorable review! I found it on Pyramid Air bundled with a Sig Sauer 1911 replica, and from the price it looks like it was a throw-in. It's the same breech, bbl, & tube as the XT32 w/a different stock.

The XT32 might be destined to become the Edsel of airguns. Maligned, ridiculed, & gov't recalled today becomes tomorrow's prized collectible!

I was seeing that same package deal in I think the sportsman guide catalog for like 65 bucks or so, but figured it was too cheap to be any good ,and even though you can usually buy the same stuff at a local store most catalogs wont ship airguns to California.

LOL! Just saw the Sig Sauer has a real serial number, so the XT must be the throw-in [-away?]. Without a S.N. confession, you can't possibly trace back to what province/prefecture in China it came from!

SYNXT must stand for synthetic stock XT. I think I found what XT32 means: There's a 4X 32mm scope that came with the XT32 (not incl. w/ SYNXT - $29.95: https://www.pyramydair.com/product/swiss-arms-4x32-rifle-scope-with-weaver-picatinny-rings?a=2274. Which means my $60 XT32 really cost around 30-35 bucks!? A bargain so far.

Wayne, dpciwholesale.com has a new Swiss Air pellet rifle in .177. Nicer gun than the xt32. Break barrel, wood thumb hole stock, trigger safety lever in front of trigger, better open sights, 4x32 scope, brags 1200fps(?) and improved spring for quieter use(?). $99. Looks like the other Swissairs they have with plastic T.H. stocks. Itried to order one but it said out of stock so I clicked notify when back in stock.

Well, I had the XT32 out today & the chrono results were less than expected for .177 (2 shots 550 fps using lead wad cutter pellets). THEN I kept readusting the scope which had already been sighted in. I'd correct for high & right, but it got worse! What happened was the scope walked backwards in the groove. And unlike my Ruger (Umarex) & Beeman, there's no stop screwed into the tube behind the grooves. Result: The scope mounts got tore up on the lips (see pic). I don't know if I can file in new edges. Hopefully Swiss Air will offer to send me new mounts (< 90 days old).

In any event, I got to try the open ghost ring sights which worked well. I had to go up to 30 (m?) mark for a 25 yd range. It shot well for elevation & windage.

Looking closer at the pics of the new Swiss Air break barrel with a wooden T.H. stock that dpciwholesale.com is selling (they're out of stock right now), the look of the open sights, trigger guard and over-all gun, it's identical to my two Crosman Storm XT"s and the stock is very close to the Benjamin T.H. stock one of my storms is in. At $99 I thinkl I'll order one if they email me they have'em back in stock.

XT32's are like any B2's, it's just that they are supposed to have a safety.
They just need some work doing to them before they shoot nice.
I picked up three new B2's a couple of weeks back. They had stood at the back of a dealers store room without the stocks fitted (2 deluxe and 1 standard). The fixing screws and the plastic cylinder caps were long time missing. I paid less than $10 for the lot.
First one to be worked on was a .177. I've ground the spring ends down flat and mirror polished them. Although to be fair, they weren't to bad to begin with. Made and fitted a Delrin top hat. Fitted a piston liner. Reduced the TP to 2.5mm from the original 4mm. Squeezed the jaws at the breach in a vice so there is no sloppiness when cocking. Replaced the trigger spring with a lighter version and polished the contact points on the mechanism. It's now all bolted together with dome headed hex bolts. The only cross-head screw is the self tapper in the trigger guard.
The result is a nice (yes I did say nice) solid feeling, smooth shooting gun that has little resemblance to the way it started.
I use the same type of cheap scope and single screw mounts on my one. Don't get any creep with the scope at all now, owing to the lower recoil while shooting beer bottle caps at twenty yards.
I have some nice guns, but it's satisfying to make a cheapy behave well beyond its humble beginnings.
