Are these Elites another RWS34 clone rifle? I held one at Wally World. I like the way they feel. If not a 34 what are they a clone of ?

It is the 34 clone.  The docile spring, piston seal, and breech seal were all for the 34.  Midway has a sale on them right now for $55, Airgundepot refurbs are 59$

Thanks !! I also seen the Midway add for $55.00 . I took it to wally world and they matched it. Less than $60.00 OTD..... No brainer for a No brainer

Lol I never thought of making them price match.  Good deal for sure.  When I took mine apart I found the spring was broke but it still shot pretty well.  All in all really good, solid gun.  Good luck with yours!  T

OK I thought my Ruger was getting dialed in but I am still getting  50 fps extreme spread and accuracy isnt that good.  Hoping that this is just part of another break in process because she was pretty accurate before my tune and I also found it to have a broken spring!  Just frusterrated because I really want this as a go to gun.

tom... you should not have that much of a variation... something is wrong. did you check the seal? now check the seal on the breach also... it should be in good condition and should stick out a little bit . if its flush it needs to be shimmed or replaced.

LD, I will have to tear it down again but think I will start with the breach seal first.  Doesn't stick out at all like my Crosmans.  I did put a new breach seal in it but still flush so it must be machined a little too deep.  Not sure what to put underneath it but I have the same problem with my XS12.  I thought I saw *R cher Air Guns had some kind of shim he sells?  Open to suggestions on this because I tried dental floss under the seal on my XS12 and it is still flush.  Probably get a little more performance out of that too then.  I don't know.  I just thought I might have to keep shooting it and hopefully it would get its accuracy back.  Grrrrr.....lol

Put some waxed dental floss under the seal. No need to buy any special shims. 3 or4 wraps is usually all it takes to get the seal up to the right height.
The seal doesn't have to be that high. Just enough to catch the edge of a credit card, when you drag it across the breech.

Just put a fair amount of moly on the piston and seal, black tar on the spring.  Put it back together and have maybe a 100 shots through it.  So far not too happy with the results.  was expecting more of a drop in power with less recoil and better accuracy.  Was shooting high 900s close to 1000 with Crosman 7.9 grain pellets.  Now I'm getting a wide range of 860s to 915ish.  Accuracy is all  over the place.  Not sure if there is another long break in period or I should have put a different seal in it?  Any experience or suggestion would be be appreciated.  Thanks.  T

you may have too much moly on the piston and seal . a thin smear is all that's needed FWIU . too much moly can cause wide FPS variation till it burns off , the more you use the longer it takes . ULTIMOX 226  can be used in place of the moly and it's not supposed to detonate/diesel like moly even with a liberal application , make sure ALL the moly is cleaned of the piston , seal and compression chamber before applying it .

All the Hawks are known to need shims on the breech seal. That's why the kit you mentioned sells. The Hawk seal is an o-ring and softer than the Crosman seals. It should be noticeably higher than the face of the breech. Shims cut from aluminum pop cans are just the right thickness, about .005". Breech seals and shims that fit the Diana RWS also fit the Hawks. I got a supply of seals and shims from Mike at Flying Dragon. I asked if he had any and the next thing I know I got a bag from him in the mail. Great guy. Shim your breech seal until it sticks out and you'll see an improvement.

Yes I think I still had too much moly paste on the piston.  She is grouping a little better/smaller spread then all of a sudden bam...I got a pellet shooting almost 50 fps faster.  I will continue to put pellets through it at the duct seal before it hits feathers.  I tried the dental floss under the breech but it seems to be packed down again.  I will try one more time then something else or ask Mike.  Thanks for the feed back.  I did get a few fps more from my XS 12 with the floss so that is a plus!
