I want a bullpup... but there are so many choices. Help me decide.
Some features that are important to me:
Function
Accuracy
Efficient air usage - I use a hand pump
Weight and size
Probably .25 cal but I'm open on this

These are the bullpups I know about, but there may be more:
Ataman
American Air Arms .357 Slayer - if only I could!
Colibri / Hummingbird - only .22 for now... but I love the look
Crossman Bulldog - big dog, not a pup in my opinion
Edgun
Evanix
FX
JKHan Krosa - good price, but maybe too new to get bugs out?
Kalibrgun Cricket - tried and true
Mrod-Air P-12
Teana - on the way?
Vulcan

I would like this thread to be about bullpups and what you like and don't like about them. If you have had experience with any of these or others please share.

How are you?
I don't have any first hand knowledge of bullpups, but have heard the Jkhan company is owned by the same company as evanix and they share simalar designs and performance characteristics.
There.are two reviews of the Jkhan bullpup on the forum both pretty good.
I believe that R&L and Wild West airguns carry them.

I'm saving for an FX Wildcat sometime this summer. It seems to be the best features for dollar, to me. At least if shot count is acceptable...I know FX will have good accuracy!

I have two bullpups in my arsenal. Evanix Rainstorm lll Stormpup 3D in 25cal and an Edgun Matador standard R3M 25cal. Both are great shooters. My preference right now is the Edgun for hunting in the bush. It's lighter and dead accurate. The Evanix is good for stalking prey from a fixed position.

Thank you all for your replies. Right now I am leaning towards the JK Han or Cricket, but that is due mainly to price. I haven't seen much about the Vulcan and some of the others, probably because they are fairly new to the market. The Edgun and FX Wildcat look good too. The Stormpup 3d photo looks better than I thought it would, but I will probably go with something more traditional.

Hope others will chime in...

Seriously, I'm not terribly qualified as I don't own a bull pup and only own one PCP (FX Whisper). So my $0.02 - usually I don't care about looks that much, performance is far more important BUT, when it comes to Bullpups there are some really diverse looking guns out there. The FX Wildcat -in my opinion- looks soooooo much better than the majority of them. That matters because people generally buy these things online without laying a hand on any of them, or shooting them. Add in that the Wildcat is $1,300 and their quality reputation.....the point I'm trying to make is I think this will be a big seller. People buy based on price, quality, and appeal. I think this one nails that better than any Bullpup. Will certainly be interesting to see the first reviews! Happy shopping.

Edit: just looked at the JKhan and that's sure a nice looking gun at a nice price point too. One thing that stood out is the 185cc air capacity. Seems really small. I don't think those numbers have been released for the Wildcat yet but that's something I'd certainly be looking at when comparing pups.

Another .02 the FX Wildcat side lever cocking is moved forward on the action so the cocking effort should be less awkward which is one of the reasons I have been reluctant to buy a Bull pup myself . I am just waiting for some non vendor sponsored reviews of the new Wild Cat and Impact before making a final decision on which one to buy . It really looks like FX nailed it with these two rifles

I agree, if I was on the marker for a Bullpup of standard power I would give the wildcat a very, very serious look.

Btw, JhKan air tubes are 280cc,..... that's a miss print.

I would look at front loaders from Vulcan or FX, Vulcan if you want it now. Although I must say that a rear sidelever is not all that bad to use so maybe a Slayer if you want bigbore. Then there's that chinese Huben semi auto coming, if it works as good as advertised that would probably be THE bullpup to have.

Be careful when you "assume" that the name will mean quality. The Wildcat is an unknown quantity, without any hands on experiences at this point. When FX got into the "bullpup" game with the Bobcat, it was not without its issues when it was first released.

Thanks for all your comments so far. I've been looking at specs and reviews of different bullpups.

Since many of you mentioned the FX Wildcat I did some research. It sure has some good looking specs... in .22 it is only 26 inches long and a little less than 6 lbs, but in .25 it jumps to 34.5 inches long... that is only 1 inch shorter than my Sumatra Carbine .25.

The FX Bobcat MkII is 37 inches long and 8.37 lbs in .25 and .30... I would consider that to be a big gun for a bullpup.

I couldn't find any specs on the FX Impact, but to me it looks much better than the other FX models, of course it's way more expensive than the Wildcat, and probably too expensive for me.

The Huban K-1 that will be available from Mrodair sure looks interesting! Hope to see some reviews before I get the itch to buy.

My favorite bullpup in the looks department is the Hummingbird, especially the silver one. I watched a few Youtube videos on that too. One comment called it a potato. A potato? If so, it's a very good looking potato, at least in my opinion. The Hummingbird is my vision of what a bullpup should look like. A potato?

Because some bullpups seem to overinflate when they grow to .25, I may have to reconsider my choice of caliber.

I've been watching Nomadic Pirate's review of the Evanix Max-ML .45. The looks of that bullpup are growing on me. It actually looks pretty good. I'd never get the .45 though...

I just bought a .22 vulcan. Should be getting it in a couple of weeks. From the research I've done, it's apparently considerably more reliable than the Colibri. The same guy who was the lead engineer on the colibri project supposedly designed the vulcan. It uses the same cz barrel, I believe and reports are that it's accurate and reliable. They also make a .25 version which is exactly the same size (27") and get's close to 60 shots. You'll have to wait a bit on that because no one has them in stock currently.

The Vulcan is high on my list, along with the Cricket, and maybe the Han, and the FX Wildcat depending on reviews.

Well, I have a bullpup on order. $$$ Ouch!!!

Decided to go with the Vulcan .25, and have been on the waiting list. Peter Plesinger at Topgun Airguns e-mailed me that the .25s should clear customs by the end of next week and are now available for order... so I did. This will be my most expensive airgun by far... hope I get a great one.

The reason I went with Vulcan is that it is the shortest/lightest bullpup in .25 that I know about that is available now. In the end I decided I wanted a multi-shot, regulated airgun.

Now which cheap scope ($100 or so... can't afford better at this time) works well on a bullpup at 50 + yards?

Hope I'll be doing a review soon.

I had a Simmons 44 mag 6-24 X 44 side focus on my .25 Cricket. I had nabbed it for $130. Good, not great, 17oz, and ~14".

Based on recent mishaps with FX Wildcats I'd go for Vulcan. CZ barrel, good support, excellent trigger, good build quality. Latest models are even quiet which can not be said for competition as they come from factory.
