Pasture pests (new video)

Here is the latest video. Most of this video is the first trip to the new property I recently got permission for. There are allot of ground squirrels in this location so there should be multiple videos from this property alone. The second video will probably be posted tomorrow after I get home from work.

I use a Canon Vixia HF R500 HD. It seems to work good and has a ton of features I have yet to try. I mostly use it on the auto settings cause the conditions change so fast and most times you dont have enough time messing with aperture settings and stuff like that.

I definately like the quality of that video better than I do of the Sony camcorders I've used at a similar price point. I just upgraded to a high end Panasonic myself and I am pleased with it, but for the price that Vixia is shooting some great footage.

I have a nice Panasonic, but im am still playing around with settings, I think that one should not zoom all the way out? and one should not use the digital zoom like I have been doing zooming all the way out, net time im going to use optical zoom and not all the way out.

LOVE THE QUALITY and the Canon Vixia's are all i use.  I love them above all the others.  They are cheap for the quality that you get.

To BWALTON and all you guys getting into filming, you are right B, TOO MUCH ZOOM is NOT YOUR FRIEND!  The quality of the lens, or the lack thereof will show up.  Its also annoying watchin something so close (zoomed in) and all your movements including your heart beat will show up if the camera is zoomed all the way in.  You always use OPTICAL ZOOM (only) and turn the digital zoom feature off.................  Digital Zoom on any home move HD camera will not so good.  Hey, thats why they cost under 300-400 bucks.........WHADDA YA EXPECT.....loL!?

Ok, that's my tips for the day.......lol!

I have shot some footage on to high a zoom without noticing until I went to edit. Its real easy to be zoomed in to close and not realize it when you are looking at the smaller screen of the camcorder. I have started using even less zoom and like Cedric said I think it turns out better.
