Issues-full dump on condor

So...I have a condor as .22. 95 gr hammer, tt tophat. That's it. Had it about a year, shooting 17gr metalmags @ 2500 psi max fill. Over the weekend I switched up to 32gr eunjin's charged to 3000 psi. Spent a bit working down the power settings to find an economical setting. When I got down to 5 and lower I would get a big air dump on first or second shot after refilling the tank.  Fps would jump from 890 to 950 and cost me 300psi off the tank. I settled in the 6 range. No issues for 30-40 shots. Refilled this morning and fired one shot and it dumped the whole tank to 0 psi.  Any thoughts?

My Talon Pistol did the same thing when I put a .22 barrel on her. I fixed it by putting an O-Ring behind the top hat. I also got a better & more consistent shot count.

If memory serves me correctly a #5 at Home Depot. I will be able to check it out Friday. I know Friday is a long time away. You can take off the top hat and carry it to any hardware store and pick up a couple of packages.

Do the o rings work the same as the shims? Shims are thinner and you stack them...but I assume it's the same concept.

Never tried shims, just rubber o-rings for under $1.00 at home depot.

Carry your top hat with you, and get a small O-Ring. You do not need a large one. Good luck and let me know how it works out for you. R&L has another way, but this worked for me and I am no mechanical genius.

  Anything that Jesse recommends is usually very easy to do since his idea of a home tune is to box up the rifle and send it out to be worked on then when it gets home he tunes it by shooting a couple thousand pellets in a few days to see which one works best

  After the .25 S510 jammed after 50 shots there is no AG I will not tear down and work on. That cured me of any reluctance I may have had about working on an expensive rifle. Besides I got a very nice Walnut stock for my .177  S510

Well the o ring idea wasn't the fix. I put couple hundred lbs of air in it and when I closed the bolt on the top hat it dumped what little air I had in it, never even got to hit the trigger........think the valve is shot? I ordered an extreme valve before this happened, so I was swapping it anyway....just hope it doesn't happen then.

No sure what's going on with this thing, I cleaned it thoroughly, thought maybe the bolt was hanging up and stopping the valve stem from returning. At this point the gun dry fires, but if I put a pellet in it, any pellet, it dumps the tank when you hit the trigger, unless someone can come up with a fix I think it goes back to airforce

This year a Gunpower rifle (UK version of Airforce) finally fell into my hands. I've already had three other owners, and I'll be fourth. The valve is very simple.
    Placing an o, ring behind the hat limits the noise of the blow of the hammer and reduces the opening time of the valve. This saves air that is wasted in the shot. But it does not solve the problem that your rifle has. The valve has a spring behind the seal delrin.This seal closes the passage of air outward.Although it did not have this spring, the internal pressure of the tank should be sufficient to close the valve again.
     There must be a reason why the rifle valve can not be closed again after the shot. When your air tank is empty, unscrew and disassemble your valve to see that everything is correct. The only reason I can think of is through which the air escapes after the hammer hit is that the valve is blocked back and does not return to its seat by cutting the air outlet. And it will be easy to look and find a way to fix it. An excessive blow of the hammer on the valve can be the cause of this problem.

Putting an O ring behind the valve stem top hat, acts much like a Regulator in an AF Gun.  so much so that the AF guys call it the "Poor Mans Reg". LOL!!!  It works!


When you tried to close the breach, the top hat was not completely seated into the poppett. First the tank needs to be full, push the valve stem straight in, (I use a flat piece of  hardwood for this).


Lastly, your hammer is a bit heavy for pellets. It will hold the valve open far too long, causing excessive air use, and in many cases, valve dump.
