How much voltage?

What is the reason for high power scopes if a low power scope will resolve much smaller detail than the typical group size? For example, if the gun will shoot .25" CTC at 25 yds, and the scope reticule subtends 1/16", is the scope contributing to significant inaccuracy? I keep wanting more magnification but I wonder why. There is a great practicality to a compact, light weight, fixed low power scope, if the performance is similar.

Are you going to shoot your target or electrocute it?

To have any kind of accuracy, you need to be aiming at a point much smaller than your group size, or even the pellet you're shooting. If you're not aiming at the center of the group, the group will expand.
As the saying goes, aim small, miss small.

Turn on the power. If you see smoke, you don't need to do any more testing.
