getting back into the shop

will be another week or two before i plan on spending the better part of a real day out in the shop, but boy, is my head spinning thinking about all the things I want to play with! Been a LONG time!
I have a hand full of old projects to finish off, which is where I will begin. In that, there is still some pretty cool stuff to get done. A couple of complete builds, stock finishing, anodizing, etc… As well, I have a pair of Bullpup ground up builds I want to pull out, and take a stab at wrapping up. One was already complete, and assembled, but needs a stock. The other is a bunch of parts, maybe half the build… I’d love to get it finished off, as it was a different type of build for me.
I hope to spend more time, and focus more, on doing stuff like the breech pictured. While that one was done with a high speed rotary hand piece, I have amassed a good quantity of engraving tools, hand pieces, and tooling. True engraving is on my radar for this year!
I have some new hurdles to overcome, as I am dealing with an injury that will just not heal... I will be learning how to do much of the work that I do, all in a different way, as I don't have the same mobility that I used to have :-(
I'm excited about getting back out there - for a while there I had considered just giving it up, and finding something else to occupy my time.
I am excited to get back to it… been a while since I had that feeling.

Most definitely heirloom quality work there DG!!!
Glad you are getting back to the bench. For me, that is therapy in itself. I too have a load of projects awaiting my attention. My hopes are after the Fun Shoot things may settle to the point that I can return to my shop and bench. I have a few rebuild/restoration projects on the list as well as a stock duplicator I hope to finally be able to set up and start making sawdust with. My lathe and mill need attention too. Some much needed cleanup and maintenance before making more metal chips.
And some custom gun racks awaiting my attention too. So much to do and so little time.
I NEED the therapy.
Anyway, glad to hear you are making the best of your situation and getting back to what you enjoy doing. and evidently doing it QUITE well!!!
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!
Dave
