shipping scuba tank

I have a scuba tank and adapter I need to ship to a friend. Anyone with experience on packing the thing so there aren't any problems? I was considering just slapping a shipping label on it but think the delivery guys might drop it on the top and damage the air control. Full boxing the thing or maybe plastic stretch wrap with extra padding around the top where the nozzle goes? Naturally it will be empty when I ship it.

I received a tank this week and it was shipped in a cardboard box filled with foam peanuts. Shipper used UPS from west coast to Texas and it arrived without any damage. Hope this helps.
