As in 2 inches or less air tanks don't ever need a hydro? Never ??

Less than 2" in diameter and 2 feet long is the cut point, from what I understand.... However, different countries may have different rules....

The under 2" is about DOT approval. You cannot transport a pressure cylinder 2" or larger with out a DOT approval (US federal law). The Dot approval requires the hydro schedule based on the approval process.
I'm not sure how the factory bottle guns are meeting the DOT requirements. Anyone know if they are marked with a DOT approval?
