how much lube

Ive been looking a Remington tyrant lately. I light the looks of it but didn't care for the spring. Well I found one yesterday on sale for $100. Of course I picked it up. Got it home cleaned up the barrel started shooting. Any way suiting at my desk I noticed a gas ram laying there. It came out of one of my titan gp's. Torn the gun down & cleaned everything up installed t be titan piston and ram. I barely lubed the piston and seal with some high temperature moly lube. Not I can't get it to stop dieseling. Right now its slinging Kodiak match at 1075fps, with the spring it was slinging at 811fps. What lube & how much should I use going to tear it back apart this morning & see if I can clean some of the lube that's in there.
Sorry one more thing, I thought there was some sort of washer/spacer behind the gas ram,but I can't remember. Any body have parts diagram?

Lube in the compression chamber should be minimal. Wipe out as much as you can. You want to leave a light coat or less. Put a bit on the back side of the seal, around the lip. Any moly lube you use should be seventy percent moly or more.
As far as spacers go, if you don't use adequate shims you will destroy the ram in short order. You need enough spacer that you have some preload on the ram to keep it from over extending. This would be in the realm of 1/8" to 1/4". If everything just drops together you don't have enough.

I usually crosshatch the inside of the compression tube with 400 grit paper on a dowel then flush with brake cleaner and lube with molly paste on another dowel with a patch. It seems to fill the cross hatching and not leave much behind to cause detonation. A little moly lube goes a loooong way

Roadworthy, Thanks for the reminder on the 400 grit & crosshatch pattern. Good timing for me just about ready to put mine back together. I don't want to leave any detail out. I'm going with a new seal & gas spring this time.

Better for the compression chamber is Ultimox or Kroytox 226 no dieseling since it is a high temperature synthetic lube I used it on by TX200 and D460 when I did my Vortek kits

I bought mine off of Amazon over a year ago it doesn't take a lot to lube a cylinder just a small dab smeared sparingly around the inside of the cylinder
