I picked the rifle up at the FFl s the other day (NJ) and it is a real beauty. It is a hw 97k with the beach stock .It has been tuned with a vortek pg2 kit and trigger polished etc.
There is no twang only a thunk. Although it does have a bit of recoil. I am waiting for my pellet order to arrive and all i have is tins of 22 cal for my benji 392. So a buddy gave me a few dozen 177 pellets to mess with. Then my cousin gave me an old springer (tech force 38d) and several tins of 177. So i have been shooting group after group with a few different pellets with mediocre results. I'm thinking I stink, the pellets stink, the scope mount is not holding properly(mount was half off the gun the other day before i noticed it hehe. Needless to say I am like hmmm is this thing going to shoot any better then my Benji? Well today I was shooting some wad cutters and then I opened a rusty tin of rws superdomes and proceeded to knock it out of the park!!!!! MY first 20 shots 2 five shot groups and then a ten shot group all under a dime!!! I am stoked/beyond pleased, this guns is absolutely awesome !!!!! Cant wait to stretch it out to 30 yds

Congratulations. The HW97k (or Beeman, if you will) is a terrific rifle.

Scott unfortunately 30 yards is all I have, and to use that i am going to have to to be in plain site of neighbors in street. Now I just shoot out my door up on the deck through the stairway to the target area which is pretty sweet. By the way the first hw97 i was trying to purchase that I spoke to you about tuning for me fell through. This one has the pg2 spring in it already so i will use it as is for now.
I have shot a few thousand pellets through my benji 392 in the last 3 months struggling to get some good groups going but I just could not manage to nail down any consistent string of groups. What i am wondering now after 55 shots in a row inside a dime with only 1 flyer with this new rifle is, What do i do now as it is to darn easy. Night shooting a little while ago I did this 25 shots 5 groups (I'm sorry i forgot to say this is 20 yards) 1 flyer I really need to stretch it out a bit.

Why, of course, it's time to buy another rifle if you are bored with that one already.

I have tons of different pellets we can try also!!
Not sure what you ordered, but mine loves JSB 7.87, 8.4, 10.3, FTTs in 4.51.
Top 2 are JSB 10.3 and FTTs.

Sounds like a winner. I use a torque wrench to tighten the base of the scope to 35# PI, and 15# pi on the scope rings.

It is amazing when you pick up a rifle that shoots accurately and makes you feel that you can't miss. Most people can tell by the ear to ear Cheshire grin that you are in love . Congratulations on the great score, now I have to ask before Joe does where is the pictures , we know you have a camera since you posted the targets

of course rws is one i did not order as i had no clue. i think i have jsbs in 8.4 and 10.3 and AA 10,3 all 4.52 and h&n ft 8.64 4.51 and another tin of 22cal jsb 18.3 for the benji 392

Joe I definitely want to get over your place for some long range shooting as soon as we both get some time. Just got back to work(i basically cut grass ,clean lawns, some landscaping etc. which ive been at for 30 plus years). Going to Costa rica surfing with kids and wife in a week and a half.which is going to be great but what a bad time for me to go away. So time is a little tight at the moment

Booger i don't own a torq wrench ,ill try and tighten a little more as the scope base is still banging its way backward.
Had a friend over for some shooting today and got around 150 pellets through it and a bunch through a couple other rifles as well. Let my buddy use the gun and of course he loved it. And i did move to 30 yards for a couple groups and the gun was still slamming but i wasn't. Table must have been a little unsteady

Russel came over to shoot with me a couple of months ago.
Wonder why he chose a 97??
I had 4 springers for him to shoot. He picked this one up first and never let go of it!!
My nephew and I had to frisk him when he left to make sure he left without the gun!!
There is nothing like a smooth and straight shootin 97!!!

LOL that's funny Joe. Yep I did gravitate toward your hw97 although all your guns where spectacular I just loved the beautiful TH stock on your 97 . I just ordered something else that will make my rifle a little more interesting. Ill post a couple pics when it comes in!!! Shooting this rifle is just an absolute treat and all the pellets I ordered seem to work great .I have used all four but the AA 10.3 and the jsb 10.3 may be the ones (probably the jsb's) My poor Benji 392 that I have shot so many pellets through in the past 3 months has been relinquished to a wall corner

My problem is I shoot for 30 minutes, put the gun up, watch TV for a few pick up another gun shoot for 30 minutes & repeat. So all my guns get quality time with me.

The 2 absolute best in mine are JSB, or Air Arms, 10.3 in. 4.52 and 8.4 in. 4.52.
When we shot together we used AA 10.3 and if I recall, you hit everything!!
