HW 95

Just got back from the range shooting my new 22 cal. HW95. I wish I had bought this gun three guns ago. It's a lot of fun and puts pellets close to the same spot at 25 yds. Now to find it's pellet it likes to shoot best. It was just too windy today to do any real testing.

Have a home JM Steelgate kitted '80s HW85/R10 w/long Goudy stock, that I put a .22 barrel on, that is smoooooth shooting at around 16.5fpe. Has an old Beeguy SS-2 scope mounted. It is the one my (non airgunning) friends request to use when along for a shoot.

Congratulations on your new rifle!  I have the R9 in .22.  Now I know each gun, even the same model, doesn't always shoot the same pellet equally well but, I have had good results with JSB, FTT, and CPHP from the tin.  If you have any of those you may find one that works well in yours.  Let us know how it goes.  I have a HW95 in .177 being delivered by Brown tomorrow!  I am stoked.

Brett, I would very much like to hear your outcome of the two WH95's .22 vs. .17 would be good info
The last .17 I had was the RWS 350 never got it to settle down.

I'll keep you posted.  I want to tune it down to 12fpe and shoot it with the open sights on it, that is why I chose the HW95 over R9 in this case.  If I were to scope it I probably would have bought the R9.  At least with the 95 I have the option should I decide I want to mount a scope.  I may also try a scope on it while I am pellet testing so I can be sure that I am using the best one in it. 

I hope to do a simple video of the unboxing and initial impression of the HW95 but I am impatient and may not be able to hold back from just tearing into the box and grabbing some pellets to try it out!  Don't hold your breath.  Ha ha ha!
