XS46U is here!

My new fully tuned by Mike XS46U has arrived!
On the rack below its big brother. Now for my first, very fresh impression. I have had the rifle now for all of an hour! Picking up the box I was a bit startled by the weight, not sure why since another poster already noted its heavy. Not as heavy as my Hatsan so I am happy with that. I ran a few patches of goo gone then dry, loaded its 1st pellet and hit my range. Here is were it gets a little bit difficult for me. I have never shot a springer before so I don't have a lot to compare it to. So I will compare it to the next closest thing I have owned, a 10/22. Recoil is actually fairly comparable. I knew it was going to have recoil but did not expect this much. Not that it is bad, kind of fun actually! The open sights are nice, if your eyesight is good enough to use them. Mine...not so good. I have a nice red dot that used to be on my 10/22. After about 5 shots with the open sights the red dot was mounted. Nice weaver rail included with the gun, this was not listed with the specs. Nice surprise. I was able to get about 30 shots off before the setting sun started to dazzle my eyes and had to quit. Groupings were OK, I know they will get much better as the gun settles in and as I get used to shooting. The trigger is nice, not quite the Quattro trigger on my Hatsan, but WAY nicer than the 10/22. So my overall 1st impression, I LOVE this gun. Thanks Mike for providing a reasonably priced seriously fun gun!!

Oh I forgot to mention. The cocking cycle is nice and smooth! I have read posters who did not have Mike tune their rifles. They complained about "crunchiness". No sign of that here, smooth as a babies butt, or silk if you prefer that analogy!

Mine was a stock springer with no tune at all.It was first crunchy but smoothed out fairly quickly.Loud and twangy at first but it has gotten much quieter now.I really like mine.
