and I am very satisfied with my Glock in 40S&W. Confirmed to me that I made the right choice . Really like the trigger pull weight.

The Glock is one of those genuine surprises.
When they first came out, plenty of people - myself included - were extremely skeptical about how durable and reliable a plastic framed autopistol could possibly be.
As it turns out, they seem to be not just okay, but some of the more durable handguns out there.
btw...my carry gun (lifetime CCW holder) is this Smith & Wesson 1006 chambered in the mighty 10mm:
How does 1350fps/627fpe with 155 grain Speer Gold Dots backed by a heavy charge of Accurate Arms #9 sound to you?

Good looking shooter you got there. I too was one of the skeptics, being a Colt .45 ACP owner. I wanted nothing but steel. How does the load sound to me?
Stout. Very stout.

Bogey, you did make a great choice. When many of our local law enforcement agencies switched to Glocks I knew there must be something I was missing. They were right. The polymer frames make a 'heavy' gun just right.
Scott, I bet that rascal has some kick to it. Beautiful gun.

Joe, believe it or not, I don't find the recoil too bad at all, although it apparently intimidated too many in the FBI to get them to keep it in the full powered level, thus making way for the .40 S&W.
It's a great gun, and I'm glad I bought it before they discontinued them altogether.
Would love to see some shots of your Glock, Mike.

Glad you like that Glock so much Bogey, it's one pistol i don't think i'll ever part with myself. Mine came with 2, 15 round mags and i've put it through it's paces many times and truely i don't think it has ever jammed. Added my favorite holster in the world, the Bianchi M-12 and called it done. The round itself is fairly incredible, i've used corbon self defense loads in it for years and if i can tell a story...
About 5 years ago i woke up on a saturday morning to hear screaming, then a car horn blowing and when i ran outside, in my PJ's, glock in hand, i was confronted with a literal monster out of a book, what later turned out to be a gigantic Pit/mastiff cross or something similar, jet black with a 10 or 12" wide head, ears cut off and flat to the skull, a 140-150?lb monster of a dog coming straight at me from my driveway. At the same time i see my mother in law, who had walked over from next door, in the passenger seat of my wifes car which thankfully was left unlocked. With about 4-6 feet between the dog and i, i put a shot almost directly between his eyes and he literally crumbled, carried only by his own inertia. He had gone after her as she came across the yard and she ran, screaming for the car. Luckily the car was not behind the dog and i had a clear shot. Where he came from we have no idea, although it's obvious from his ears being docked like they were that he was meant to be a fighting dog. The area of our town where dogfighting is common is only 5-6 miles from our home on the outskirts. My thought is that he was dumped after someone couldn't handle him.. the fault lies with the owner/breeder not the dog and i am forever sorry it happened but all i can say is i'm glad i didn't step out with a .22 pistol or a bigcat with pba. I trust my Glock.

Reb, at least you or your loved ones are not sorry that you did not get attacked and killed. Or mangled.
There is a fellow that has an aggressive Pit Bull in the neighborhood. He likes to take the animal out on a leash and let it lunge at other dogs and towards people in thier own yards. I casually put out the word that if I ever catch the dog running loose, that somebody had better bring a shovel. But I'll be using a 12guage with buckshot. A week or so ago(near here) a young girl was killed by her own dog while on a walk. A tragedy.
The animal attacked her throat.
Ran only 50 rds through the pistol, but was able to keep 47 rds in the X, and 10 ring at 30 feet. Most hits touching each other. Group is about 3in by 4 inch. Believe I can tighten that up . Shooting standing without any rest.

The Glock is a very nice gun. I was on a bit of a budget a few years ago when I was shopping for my .40 I picked up a Taurus 24/7 pro and have been very happy with it, though it does have a good bit of muzzle flip. It's a medium frame, so I am looking for something a little smaller as a carry weapon.
Bogey, those are very respectable groups, espically for the first day on the range. I'm hoping to add a Glock to the collection some day.
Good Call on picking up the right gun Reb. You may have saved more lives than you know that day.

ScooterB, I have owned several Taurus pistols and revolvers. Not disappointed with any of them.
I selected the Glock for several reasons. Mainly the large numbers of parts and accessories available for them. And the ease of re-sale if need be.
But I really like the trigger pull weight as it comes stock out of the box. Supposed to be about 5 lb. Tried some other simular pistols and the trigger pull was just too much. Was told that one pistols' pull weight was 15+ lbs. Too much for me.
