Chrono Connect "Mobile"

If anyone is familiar with Chrono Connect Mobile App on an android, can you give me some help or advice?

I have set it up exactly the way it shows and have fired some pellets.  To me it looks like Chrono Connect it is working but it only registers 266, 263, 266, 261, 262 and so on.  Like my gun is shooting consistent but the reading from the APP are low.  It is like I have to X3 the numbers.  Like it doesn't know yards from feet.  I am shooting a Crosman NP .22 and 13.43 JSB's so I know I should be getting almost 740+ FPS.

For some reason Chrono keeps my FPS down in the high 200's.

Are my settings all jacked up???

I don't know the app, but could you have it set on meters instead of feet?

Just double check your measurements and the actual input. It only works when you take extra time to double check the info.

Wish I could help "sorry" I looked at the app a little while back and it had a lot of negative reviews so I didn't download it. I really hope you get it working, I'd love to down load it myself if it'd work........... Has anyone else had any success with it? I desperately need a chrony......

I just started using it and it seems to be working quite well,
I don't own a crony to test it against but here is two strings I got
from my regulated Daystate according to the factory it was shooting
848 fps with 10.65gr pellets for 17fpe http://www.daystate.com/cgi-bin/dbspace.cgi

now when I first saw this string I wasn't very happy
except that it was consistent
But afterwards I figured out part of the problem
I was shooting out a window with the barrel
about even to the inside ledge...
Also there was a lot of background noise when I was shooting
(pneumatic impact wrench on and off)
Also keep in mind both strings were shot
in 5 degrees F weather so the gun
was cooling as I was shooting...

When I tried it with the barrel
2 inches threw the window this is what I got

So its seems to work quite well if
all you measurements are right(down to roughly an inch or two)
(I've read LDC's and shrouds can mess with reading?)

You can also try adjusting the sound sensitivity
or try using the "gun specific options and see if those help.

So far I'm happy...a free crony
I'm also planning on buying the upgraded version
that can keep shot strings so I don't have to go check the phone very shot...

I used it on android and had good luck with it. I'd double-check the settings as someone mentioned but also be sure you are shooting at something that makes a loud noise. I used it indoors and shot at an empty can hanging in my pellet trap. Don't use a LDC either when using it.

Your answer probably picked out my chrony errors the best and probably hit the nail on the head!!!

I have been standing in my garage and shooting into the backyard...I have been shooting at 36ft exactly...and I know all my measurements are correct because I have a 30' tape measure I'm using to mark the distances down.  I am also using "Feet" as my "Unit of Measure" and not yards...because I want to be perfect in my distances.

Here is the kicker.  I shoot into the backyard through the side door (man door) that is about a 2-3ft distance in front of the muzzle.  I know the sound is picked up by the phone from the target because I hung an 1/8" steel plate that i hit that makes a terrible racket when struck!!!

The Chrony must be picking up the echo or reverb from the shot cycle coming out of the door and for some reason it really slows down the readings...not sure how...but it sounds as though your window was doing the same thing.

I will try it tonight with the muzzle past the door!!!  By the way, my rifle has a sound suppressor...it is a Stoeger ATAC...like the Stoeger X20.  Hope this is not an issue as well.

I couldn'd figure out how to access any settings? Surely it'd need to know the target distance and what not. If it'll work I don't mind buying the pro version, butt.......

Its the only way I'll shoot in this cold/wind
(even though its not heated it get you out of the wind...)

does you phone have like a menu(not home) button on the left bottom of it?
on my android it has four bottoms
on the phone and if I hit the one on the far left
it brings up the menu for picking the settings
(hope that makes sense?)
Or look for 3 horizontal bars?

And yes it will need you to put in the three distances and the weight and B.C. of your pellet.

Both of my string were shot with the free version.
only downside is I can't see is I can't see the phone in my set-up
so every shot I have to get up and go outside to read it and write it down...
(that's why I'm looking at the pro version)

No such luck for me I can't figure out to acces the settings at all.

Try long pressing the button to the left of the home button. I just installed it and that is how my S5 works.

I did try the search...but most of them I ready were not per my question.  Meaning...I knew the phone and Chrono Connect were working...but couldn't understand why my reading were so accurate but a 1/3 delta away from what they were supposed to be.

In my mind I was getting accurate readings...just all super low...but still accurate...

Before I ask any question i always do a search 1st...i have learned that from years of "forums" experience...hee hee hee

On my way home from work...give me about 2 hours from now and I will have ran more tests!!!  I'll post here when done.

Thanks Zulu for posting this. I was desperately needing a chronograph. I got home and got it set up and it worked pretty good. I had used a friends chrono a couple weeks ago and checked my rifle. The same rifle and tin of pellets was hitting just 10 fps slower on chrono connect. The weather could even cause that.......... This just might work pretty good if properly set up and a consistent environment.

Okay guys...not good.  It has to be the environment that I am shooting in.

1.  I got home, re-measured everything to a T...it is perfect.
2.  double checked my pellet data..it is spot on
3.  Stuck the barrel outside the door frame and fired.
4.  Hit the steel plate hard and made a resounding Tongggggg!!!!

I stopped after this...pretty frustrated...I used my sons Titan GP this time (no suppressor).  A rifle that 1000's of people have chronied...so I know it shoots Crosman Premier 14.3's in the 660-680FPS range.

I am going to my local range to meet up with my airgun club...one of the gentlemen there is going to let me use his "real" chrony for the day.  It's an outdoor range...so I will take my phone with me and set it up and take my steel plate with me.

I will report back after I am done...the place is out in the open and NOT confined like my back yard.  Shooting in my backyard is like shooting down a tunnel or an alley way.  I got a house right next to mine that defines my backyard space...so walls to the left and to the right...almost like an indoor shooting range.  We will see if the Chrono Connect Mobile hates confined spaces or not.

Bummer...try taking along a plywood or hard wood
piece of wood as well, that is what I've been using
not sure if it would make a difference?

As a side note my Daystate has the factory LDC on it.

That's a bummer Zulu. I can only speak to what worked for me, but I was indoors, shooting a can hanging from a string 26' away with the phone exactly halfway between them at 13'. Maybe it just doesn't work as well outdoors because it measures sound and the time between the 2 loud noises. If you can, try it indoors and/or maybe shorten the distance so it picks up the right sounds better.
