IR would be nice. This optic will be pulling some night duties occasionally.Looking to keep the budget low, below $175I don't really care about weightSidewheel really isn't mandatory for me. Application is for taking shots at targets of varying sizes between 2" to 4" with a .177 as far away as 150-200 yards, so more mag will be a definite help. Also will be used on the occasional field hunting outing. Hawke is nice, but Hawke is costly & the Missus put me on a budget. If I go over budget, there's no wi-fi in the kennels, so you guys may not hear from me for a while

If I go over budget, there's no wi-fi in the kennels, so you guys may not hear from me for a while I've shot at dusk during our funshoots and could see the 1" bell target and hit it more than naught, when shooting in my back yard after dusk but not dark I could put pellet on paper at 10 up to 24x+ as for 40x I can't honestly recall what the image quality was like as I've rarely went that high. (having it and not needing it rather than needing it and not having it) been there with many a scope.so just out of curiosity I turned on the back lights, went over to my den and looked out at my pool heater (15-20 yards away), I could clearly make out the equipment and the pentair label at 10x then zoomed in at 24x still able to make out the pentair label (it was dim but enough ambient light to where I could've tagged out the center of each letter). then focused on my far neighbors back lights (167+ yards away) on 10x and had a clearly definable view of the light fixture and the tree branches in front of it. everything between forget it, couldn't make out the solar panels, barely made out the soccer goal post.now I did attempt to use my cam to take scope view pics but neither of the two gave a bright enough image through the scope.now I didn't go up to the higher power because I don't have enough time and I was standing, the daystate is not a light rifle and it's cold.if you don't have some type of light source on the target no scope except night vision will give you a good image. even a clear night with a full moon will not be enough for most scopes, I know cause I tried it and not just with barska's.I'm not going to get into a debate of good or bad, my sig speaks for itself and it's obvious I don't shy away from that fact. just so you know what I was looking at.just ran electric to my shed to install exterior lights so I'll have a few bait stations between 20-80 yards from my den's back door
I have no intentions on debating you on something I own and use compared to only what you have read, you obviously have a ax to grind and it's a waste of my time to deal with someone like you. I'm still amazed how someone can discredit something that someone actually owns and uses. I get it, you hate barska, I like barska, should be end of story right? but to ease your curiosity, at 40x which i tried at 80 yards, I had a clear sharp picture, quite opposite of what you expressed.it's one thing to read about something and another to actually own something and use it.just out of curiosity, what all do you own other than the d34 and fixed power scope?PS: FT. Bevoir or jersey fun shoot? if all you have is a springer, I'll use my hw77 or beeman rx you can choose. *LOL*
