So I'm going to get my R9 tuned and postpone the purchase of an LGU. I sincerely thank all of you for your input. It actually helped a lot.PaulGood choice!

um, nobody actually answered paul's question in full.what exactly is a tune?what does it do?when is it worth doing?how expensive should a gun be to make tuning worthwhile.?some of us don't know, but would like to...
Here is a good link.http://springgunning.com/tune.html
thank you for explaining it to me.
don, that's exactly what i needed to know. i'm looking at dianas but right now have no pricey airguns.mostly, i have things i'm not supposed to mention here.
You could not go wrong with either choice. I thought for sure you were buying the LGU in .177.. Now that you decided on tuning the R9 my advice is send it to one of the better and proven tuners.. One that communicates with his customers and will understand what your looking for in a tune..
I'm actually surprised you decided this way. This is not normal. But, I have to say.. I, for one, think you went the right way. Not only will you experience a finr gun shooting at it's best, you will be doing that gun a great service. And the best part is, when you get it back it will be like getting a brand new gun. I don't have either of these guns but I do know that the difference in the tuned guns I do have, before and after a good tune is like night and day. I recently got my hands on a D34P fully tuned with a PG2 kit in it. Nice shooting gun.
don, which of those would be best for shooting evil bunnies?paul, best of luck with your new gun.

As I read through the posts I kept flipping from buy to tune. For awhile even I thought for sure I would be buying the LGU Quote from: avator on February 26, 2015, 05:02:43 PMI'm actually surprised you decided this way. This is not normal. But, I have to say.. Really excellent points on both sides of the issue that I had not considered. Hopefully I'll get the LGU NEXT, before getting another gun tuned. At least that's my plan for now,
