Just received word that I will have a .22 caliber AT 44 10 QE in hand next week along with the new Air Venturi G6 pump to test. This is what the Hawke Airmax 30 is going on and I can't wait to see how this setup works. I will have some videos up very soon taking a look at the new pump and the new glass.

Thanks Matt it is going to be fun testing what is coming. 3 different pellets and several tins of each along with the new pump so we can do a side by side test between the G4 and the G6.

I think eventually the at44 qe will replace the Mrod as the clearly better budget PCP rifle, the only thing the Mrod has that the at44 qe doesn't is all the aftermarket stuff and the ease of adjustability to get more or less power (which also sacrifices or gains more shots).

As far as which is better OTB, I have no doubt its the AT44 QE

I don't know about replacing the mrod there are a lot of fanboys out there

but I know what you mean. In fact I just had this very conversation with someone when we were talking about which gun I wanted. I said that many do not want to work on something as soon as it arrives but just want to shoot. There is not one thing wrong with modding a gun or buying one you can but for OTB load it shoot it I don't think you can get better for the price than Hatsan is doing. I had to option of an mrod among several others but turned them down for the QE which had all the features I needed in a ready to go platform.

There are two features that sold me on the AT44-10QE over the Mrod. 1st was the simplicity of the magazine, no plastic moving parts. 2nd was the removable air tank. I found a great deal on a 2nd tank so now when I go out in the field I have plenty of air.

I have shot Tommy's AT 44 long QE in .25 and I must say that I would own one in a heartbeat! They are high quality, durable, user friendly rifles that put the pellet right where you want it! And this is coming from an Mrod guy, LOL!!!

I could not make up my mind so got both in 3 calibers,gen1 mrod and at44s. They are both nice guns just little differences. In .22 I think Hatsan all the way,out of the box.The other two calibers I think pretty close,except I love the lever action on the Hatsan better than the bolt on the Mrod.jmo

Jim you pointed out one of my favorite parts of the AT 44s, the side lever. As you shoot the gun in it gets smoother and smoother and after about a tin of pellets you don't even realize you worked the action. I just talked to Hawke and found out what scopes I have coming so now to decide which gun gets which scope although the 4x16 will likely go on the .25 Long.

I will be doing videos soon on the new Airmax 30 3x12 and the other is a new model that people will need to go to my youtube channel to see what it is once the videos are up.

I agree. My favorite part of the at44s was being able to add an ldc or not. Sometimes I need the gun more compact than quite. I will ;ove to watch your vids. It would be too hard and long for me to review because they are both good platforms. I just hunt so I just can't stand not having alot of choices. Honestly I think in pcp both platforms are solid. If you look at break barrel platform Hatsan smokes almost everyone.(at pricepoint).

That AT44-10 in .22 is a freak of nature, I can put up .650ctc @ 100yards if I do my part. I look at other guns that cost 4X as much and the only thing that they can offer me is higher shot count.

Both of the AT 44s I have are the QE series since I wanted integral suppressors. I have a power tuned QB78 .22 with an LDC but it will never be removed. I also found out today I have not only the new Hawke Airmax 30 coming but another new scope from them that will be a secret until the 2nd video is done.

I agree with Baxter, the .22 Hatsans are great. the other two calibers are too close to call, unless you start modding.

The whole idea about this series of videos we are doing is for new shooters that aren't ready to mod or have no desire to mod and want to shoot OTB guns that work. I picked the Hatsans for that reason. I could have gotten an Air Force, mrod or even an Air Arms but stuck with the AT 44 because of the ease of use and value for the price.

I agree. The hatsans in all calibers out of the box are a great gun. The mrods are close,but I think my at's are less pellet picky.

I'd like to see a stock shot string
May I assume the QE would be identical but quieter or anything else done to affect the string/velocity?
