38T blues

I am at the end of my rope here.
I have a 38 in .22 that needs a reseal.
I replaced all the seals with a kit that was available, no more leaks, BUT, I cannot get it to go over 245fps???

I have no idea what could be the culprit!
it was doing 305 before the reseal, and should be around 380, but it will do between 180 and 240.
I have had it apart over and over, checking alignments of the tubes, seals, hammer spring, you name it. I am about ready to scrap it for parts.

any ideas??

Did you lose the power pin??

Open the handle like your going to replace a Co2 cartridge .... running next to the cartridge is a metal strap. Do you see a small pin between the frame and the metal strap?  You can slide this pin up and down to adjust power, but it is small and easily loosable.

Bet you lost it and its running @ minimum .....

Heres a picture I found online ....  see the small pin?  This is moveable up/down to adjust power.  Its not severe, but it does make a difference.

Yes that pin is present and is adjusted almost to the upper curve. If i put it lower it can barley push the pellet out the barrel. I oiled the entire inside moving parts and the seals. It got better but still nowhere near the average velocity of 350, it is about 290 right now so im getting closer.

Did the new seal kit happen to have a new valve spring that you installed?  If so, the old might be the stronger.

Glad to hear the power pin is there.  That frequently gets lost .... 1/4" off the shank of a 7/32 (i think?) drill bit solves the problem.

I have one of these in very nice condition I have dis assembled and need seals, problem is the seal kit shipped is almost what the gun is worth. Mine is .22 and when it shot, it was pretty accurate. I have both the combat and target barrels.

it did not come with a spring, just seals. but it would seem that a weaker valve spring would be better because it gives the poppet more dwell time?

also, the seal kit was $30 shipped and the gun, if in good condition in .22 is worth about $100 give or take, if you had one that has been in your possession for many years, they are worth fixing IMO
