Model 95 pivot bolt again

I had posted before about getting movement from the barrel pivot bolt and thought I had the problem resolved by tightening it. Now it is moving again so I pulled the barrel off to see what is going on. The metal shim is pancaked so much the barrel is rubbing the metal on the gun itself and getting scratched. Once I started inspecting things I realized the pivot bolt is sloppy inside the barrel and on the non threaded side of the gun (don't know the technical name for where the barrel mounts). By me tightening the barrel I was just hiding the problem not fixing it. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to order a new pivot bolt and shims if Hatsan gets back to me... I'm hoping that the pivot bolt was made just a smidge out of tolerance and a new bolt will take away the slop.

Easy enough to know if a replacement pivot bolt will fix it ...
measure it's diameter and if it is worn with a step, a new pins going to help IMO.
IF no step is present then the hole in receiver block is oversize in which case your SOL and have to live with it as it is.
Sadly the QC and Tolerances for many rifles is lacking thus creating such issues.
* if having access to a machine shop, perhaps a thin wall lining could be fitted that is closer to pivot bolts diameter

Thanks for the reply, looks like we think about the same way. The pin does not have a step in it and I don't know the correct diameter of the pin or hole so I wouldn't know which one is wrong . I an hoping it's the pin since the barrel and gun side both have play. I thought about sleeving it but since it is only 2 months old I would return it first. Just kind of annoying since this is my only gripe with the gun.

Billy, I've never seen a Hatsan. Crosman guns are infamous for side to side play. The cure is a washer. They come form the factory with a plastic washer which allows flex. Many replace the plastic with bronze bearings or brass. If the washer is too thick either material is pretty easy to thin. The trick is to get inner and outer hole diameters correct.

The problem I'm having is that the diameter of the bolt is smaller than the diameter of the hole so I'm getting up, down, in and out movement.

why don't you just send Hatsan a service form and have them fix it under warranty?

I think Motorhead has it. I would suspect the hole bores being oversized before the bolt being undersized. IMO, I'd get a replacement and avoid the headache this sort of issue can cause.
