Ive read alot of good posts about these little rifles and decided that at the price theres not much to lose ordering one. Im so glad did. This thing is so much fun, It comes with a Daisy diopter rear peep sight and once you get it sighted it hits where you aim it. I sighted it in at ten yards because this gun is designed for 10 meter shooting. It also comes with different globe sight inserts. I chose the one with the post because that's what I'm used to. Just put the top of the post on target and hit the target. It's that easy. We are having high winds today but it didn't seem to affect poi at all. I was using RWS basics because they were the lightest wadcutters I have and I chronied the basics at mid to high 490s with a couple breaking 500. Only about a 15 fps spread which I was pleased with. I tried some shots from 20 yards and amazingly I was hitting the small spinner even with the wind. I can tell that this gun will be fun for years to come. The stock is decent, no dings or scratches, but could use some oil. You can tell that this gun was used but I don't care. For less than a third the price of new you cannot beat this deal. I am so happy I order this little jewel.

Congrats on the 853. They are definitely good shooters, and they're easy to spruce up if you tire of the used look.

When you start shooting competition targets (round), they you will find that the sight picture offered using a round front globe sight insert is much more accurate than a post insert. It is very easy, relatively speaking, to line up a circle within a circle within a circle. When you go throwing a post in that mix, it's harder for your brain/eye to get things all lined up as they should be.

And you will also find that you pick the front globe sight circle insert based on the size of or distance to your target. You want to ideally have equal spacing of white and black areas with all the circles. See the attachments below that illustrate different size circle inserts in the front globe sight. It's clear that you can pick the one that works better than the other for you (personally I like the picture where the spacing is more even, but if the other sight picture works better for you, I guess there's no reason not to use it).

A post insert may be better for a non-round target, or a round target that is bigger than the entire sight itself, or a round target that you're not aiming for the center of.

Thanks for the info. Like I said, 10 meter is all new to me. I'm used to plinking at 20ish yards with open sights and scopes. I will experiment with the other inserts to see what works best. Much appreciated input.
