There is the sound of the pump handle slamming on a 953 or 853.  Not sure if that would be too loud.  CO2 airguns might be better if that would be a problem.  But still may need a LDC to quiet the report.  The Umarex Fusion is supposed to be quiet but has had a leak problem at the fill cap but an after market fix sold by Flying Dragon.  Flying Dragon has the XS60C (same platform as the Fusion) with the cap problem fixed.  With something like the TKO add will probably still be cheaper than the Fusion.  JMO

FYI, on pumpers it takes only a little sticky back felt to silence the noise of pumping.    That includes the 953/853.

Well a Crosman 2289/1322 with a little work can be so quiet that the person sitting next to you can not hear it. ..............

i'd never say that about mine , but with a few pumps it is pretty quiet . can you start a thread with details about your mods for making it so quiet ? and pics ! me likey pics !

I would think a low powered springer would be quietest as even the low power ssp p17 has a little crack to it but not bad.  So many options. I would watch some videos on everything listed until something grabs ya. You'll know it when you see it.  I always do.

I my do that next time i take my 2289 apart.    It is kind of impressive how quiet they can be, the only thing you might hear, especially at low pump counts, is the hammer and impact on the target.

Ditto on anyone saying the Daisy 953, Avanti 753/853's are quiet.  The only noise you will need to worry about is the pellet trap.  These guns are very quiet and at roughly 500fps with 7-ish grain pellets they are accurate out to 20 yards by the time you run out of elevation on the rear sight.

Low power, high springer is totally an option. I thought that might be the quietest, no idea why I thought that.

I had also considered an MSP and using very few pumps.

My trap is right under his bedroom, so the gun needs to be pretty quiet. No way I can shoot my FDPCP when he is sleeping.

As to the CMP suggestions, I thought you had to be a member of a club to order those. I might well be wrong.

The trap itself is very quiet. It is a storage tote filled with worn out clothes, set upon end.. I cut a hole in the lid and use magnets to hold a target up.

I would prefer to avoid an add-on quieting device.
Budget is whatever it needs to be, higher just means saving my pennies longer. OK, not totally true, I am not buying a $2000 10m gun, but hundreds would be OK.

I would go the CMP 853 route.  It is quiet and very accurate.  $115 delivered.  CMP ships these fast (faxed my order form on a Monday afternoon and FedEx attempted delivery at my house on Wednesday of the same week).

I have a 10 yard range in my basement. I put roxul insulation in the joists above my shooting area, which is directly below our TV viewing area. I can shoot anything I own as much as I want to while my wife watches tv above and she doesn't mind at all. S200-PCP, NP-LX, Sheridan .20. I wouldn't say there is NO sound, but it's reduced to the point that it's faint. Have you tried shooting with your son asleep? We found that our son would wake with a pin drop and with the other one you could drive a Mac truck through the bedroom and she'd sleep right through! Good Luck!
