spring cleaning in January

Friday I have to go to the VA hospital, when I return it should be a cool 61*. I think I will clean all my spring piston guns, and shoot until sunset. On Saturday it will be a frigid 66* and I think that will be a great time to chrony all my rifles with their favorite pellets and finish on Sunday where the weather takes a major dip to about 63*. This way I can see how some of my rifles have broken in and others how they have fared since the last time I checked them. I just need to get my winter clothes ready tonight for all the hard work I plan for the next few days.

Well up here in the sunny north eastern portion of the country tonight is a balmy 18 degrees I think tomorrow I will break out the bathing suit and sun glasses and do some plinking in the backyard "NOT"

Gotta say the last 2-3 weeks in Texas has been wet and cold with very little sunshine. We got down to around 15 one night last week I think. I been really feeling for you guys up north if you gotta go through months of this and worse. Next 3 days at least are gonna be sweet for shooting.

Just went back to work on Jan 4 after a 12 day Christmas shutdown. Monday is MLK Day so it's a 3 day weekend for me. The weather show to be in the upper 60's. It's gonna be an old pumper kinda weekend for me. My poor elbow....... BTW, that's "pumper as in airguns ya sickos

I have a nice, warm, indoor, heated 50 yard range less than a mile from my driveway  .........only drawback is it's less than 100 yards from the busiest set of railroad tracks in the world. Every 15-20 minutes, 24-7, 365 there's a train going by. All the vibration makes for tough shooting' with a scope with the "shakes".

   Yup, in upstate NY it has been below zero F many nights and in the teens and sometimes windy during the day as well. I still grab a pumper and do a little shooting daily.

5 guns cleaned, 2 were filthy. Got them all back to zero, one was busting the speed of sound for atleast 10 shots. Everything is under control in the cleaning department, now I need to make the decision of how many shots to chrony over each rifle. PCPs I like to do 40-60, springers are a different story. If I do not know the favorite pellet I usually shoot 10 of each, but these rifles I do know their favorite pellet and most of them have a very close 2nd favorite.

I will be shooting their favorite pellet, and would like suggestions of what you my fellow addicts would like to see. Testing will begin somewhere between 10am and noon.
