The new HW95.
I did a photo shoot like it was baby pictures for memories of her as new.

The numbers seem to match what Straight Shooters lists in their tests.
The Crossman's had varying breach fits and I could have fired them away from the
Chrony but what the heck eh? She is breaking in.

I'm trying scopes now. I sent back a Mamba 3-12x44 today. Maybe it was a bad copy. That's another Story.

Yes I will Scope her and she's already had a Mamba Lite 3-12x44 here for trial but it would not clearly focus from 10 -12x, and lacked the contrast I expected for the money. Anything @50yds or beyond at any power looked unclear.  Perhaps it was just a bad copy but.............
I sampled a couple lower cost Sun Optics Air-A-Tac scopes earlier in the week and was impressed with these scopes for the money. I now have a  3-9x50AO copy  in route to see how that goes.
I really had hopes for the Mamba Lite especially with it being able to mount medium height rings.

I plan on following up on both scopes in the Arigun Related Reviews section soon.

Really nice looking gun. I like the numbers with the 8.44gr. I bet accuracy will be very good

Don't be afraid to try Exact Heavies or Barracuda Match. Both perform well in mine and the shot cycle is nicer so far as I'm concerned with less noise. I have read a great many opinions about moderately heavy pellets wearing out the seal and spring quicker but I think the "issue" is overstated.

Having shot and chronied FTT's against the Exact Heavies (and Crossman premier heavy and barracuda match), and plotted the same trajectories for both I get .5-1 ft/lb more energy over it's point blank range (one pellet width above and below the line of sight) from the exacts than from the FTT. The FTT does get me 2.2 yards further out but the energy at the far end is almost 1 ft/lb more for the exacts. The Barracuda match have the lowest standard deviation but the exacts (hvy) are my favorite overall.

I read a post that claimed that lighter pellets work better and are more efficient in the HW95 and that it would show in the results on the chrony with more energy down range and a much flatter trajectory. Well it didn't for me. I average 830fps with the exact heavy and 912 with the FTT. Worth a try.

Worst case scenario seals and springs are cheap and easy to replace, but I don't think that's going to be a problem. 11 grains+ maybe but not mid 10's.

I am still learning and I have read more about too light than too heavy working the internals hard.
On the B26 the 8gr Polymags were fantastic shooting.
I'm going to Chrony those tomorrow.

I can definitely feel the shot cycle difference between the 7.9 and 10.5gr pellets.

Talk about crazy wild pellets, I have a 500ct tin of RWS Superpoint Extra Field Line 8.2gr that make the shot cycle feel like they are lighter and print like a shotgun.
I would love to trade for some round ball just to try. 

Shes new and breaking in. It passes the tissue test. And where has this trigger been all my life?

The Sun Optics scope arrives tomorrow and hopefully this weekend I'll update here with Scoped and target pics.

I guess you guys know she will be getting tuned sooner than later.

Ran 10 Poly's through this AM with my Coffee.
Checked before hand and had to tighten the stock and trigger guard screws again. The wood must be compressing.
I'm going to wait until my screw checks show much less turning to snug and then apply the Blue 242.

It was 33°F, and the shots started out in the 900s and I was getting excited but they started to drop
into the 800's, and darn, dang nab it  , I always get one in a string that sinks a little lower than the averages of the string - see the Lo N0.9 - 885.7-.
Its almost like the feeling of getting 5 out of 6 Lotto numbers.

In that type of weather you'll see numbers like this. As the gun acclimates to the cold temp FPS usually goes down a bit.

Couldn't agree more with Jeremy!!
My 98 loves the JSB 10.3 and they give the best FPE.....I usually shoot them when the wind is up.
Also loves 8.4s and FTTs big time!!!

Just a preliminary:

I got her back from John In PA yesterday and tested the shot cycle with no scope and man, nice! You can really focus on the cycle if you are not sighting. She left here a real twanger.

I told him I like a light trigger and that's what I got @ under 1.25lbs I love it. It left here @1.50. I have a Lyman digital TP gauge.

The Vortex Diamond Back 4-12x40 AO is out of the question one of the worst examples I have used to date. I'm sorry but that scope was terrible, more on that later if you like.

I mounted the Hawke 3-9x40 AO HD IR and put a few down the tube and am still feeling her out.

He "Buttoned the piston, Honed the tube, fit the seal, used a Vortek PG2/R spring kit, Polished the bore, dialed in the trigger group, cupped the pivot and trigger screws, and more I'm sure.
It came back with the old parts including the Spring & Rod, Piston & Breech Seals, and the bolts and screws replaced by the cupping work.

I'll be back with initial breaking in chrony results and profile & target pics this weekend.

I was a couple days ahead of you in the cue at John-N-Pa with getting my HW50S tuned by him.  Got it back a few days ago.  The UPS guy just dropped of my new R9 Elite combo today.  I have been following your posts on different scopes you have been trying out with interest, as I will probably replace the Bushnell Banner that came on my R9 and was paying attention to your scope tribulations.  Perhaps you could go through your tested scopes and give us your thoughts on what you found to be your reasons for giving a thumbs down to the various models you had.  It probably would help out other GTA members to know what your experience was.
