Heavy Duty Spring Compressor

I just finished building a spring compressor. I am going to spring tune my Diana 56TH soon so I needed a tool that was strong and safe to R & R the spring. It's too heavy to hang up on a hook so it will probably lie next to my floor jack.

It snowed last night so maybe I should bring it to work. Maybe I could winch a stranded driver out of a ditch.



An 8" c-clamp was $15 and the trailer jack was $24 (Lowes). The jack was only one more hole to drill in the wood and no metal cutting plus it has much more travel than the c-clamp. I used a treated 2x8 because I need a 5' 2x8 for another project.
