Just got it about 2 hours ago. I bought it from PA and got the 10 for 10 and bought four different brands of pellets. I first wiped all the cosmoline off the barrel and stock with some Remington gun oil and then wiped it down again with dry rags to get it touchable. It is a very nice looking stock, but as someone pointed out in a video I saw somewhere, the joint between the butt pad and the stock isn't very clean. To be honest, this is a total non issue for me, but I mention for those of you who are more interested in furniture quality. The eye will
not
be drawn to this and had I not seen the video, I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have noticed it. The drop in the stock is perfect for shooting with the open sights and I spent the first 20 or so shots zeroing the open sights and shooting offhand using them. The gun is still smoking at this point but I am totally smitten with the firing cycle. WOW! Really fast lock time and this gun is loud, but some of that is probably the gun continuing to diesel. Since this is my first ever .22 air gun I was blown away with the size difference in .177 and .22 pellets. All in all, I was just loving this thing. The cocking effort deserves a comment. On my other break barrels it takes a bit of effort to initially break them open and then all you are doing is compressing the spring. With the Supersport, initially breaking open is so easy that at first I thought something was wrong. The cocking action is a bit heavy but extremely smooth. Everything feels really tight and yet slick at the same time.
I finally got ready to see what it would do with a scope and mounted a center point 4-16X40AO with a one piece UTG mount and used the scope stop hole on the top of the receiver. I started off using JSB Exact Jumbo Express 14.3 and I could get three in one hole and then the next two were way high. It seemed very inconsistent but I was still seeing a lot of smoke when I would break the barrel open and the smell of burnt oil was in the air, so I wasn't really worried and just kept trying to zero for about 50 or so shots. I switched over to Beeman Field Target Special copper 14.72 and the gun started shooting really nice one hole groups at about 15 yards and I switched to shooting offhand at some hanging tin cans. I prefer to hang tin cans because you don't have to walk down range and set them up again. I have 4 of them hanging at about 30 yards from my front porch.
The "2 stage trigger" isn't great but it isn't that bad either. I don't notice the first stage at all and the second stage is pretty long. It is still on the factory setting and must be about 4 pounds. A bit heavy but not really a bad trigger. I'll adjust it later.
The gas piston is just great. What is not to love about gas pistons? I'm in love with it and the gun in general. This is a very different animal than I am used to shooting. It is not subdivision friendly, but I live in the country. I'm going to get a chronograph before I follow up with my review of this gun. Just a quick initial assessment of the gun. This may be love and this one needs ear protection.

This is slow going. Rifle is continuing to sound like a rimfire with standard velocity ammo. Definitely sounds more like a powder burner and with the heavy cocking effort it is not an "all day plinker". I went back to the open sights just to ruin some cans and get some offhand practice in while I try to burn off the excess lube. Fortunately I just recently replaced the seal and spring in my Shadow and I know that took me several hundred rounds to get it to stop smoking.
